Comport Serial Port Card (8 Ports)
It is some time that I using AirMail3 with wine.
I have the latest version of Wine but after I configure the Ports from
ttyR0 to ttyR7 and running AirMail3 this application is not able to
comunicate using the equivalent COM1 .... COM4 ports.
I'm not sure if Wine is converting correctly ttyR0 to COM1 and so forth.
The result is that for the Hurricane season I can NOT use E-Mail under

Wintex 5.4 com port setup
Need to allocate USB0 to COM1 for Wintex 5.4 alarm software.
Ubuntu sees the alarm panel (on device manager) on the usb port, but the software does'nt connect.
Wintex software setup gives the options of Com1 to Com16.
I have already tried:
cd ~/.wine/dosdevices
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 ./com1
Still not working.
Any ideas?

program fails to enumerate COM ports
Hi. LG PC Sync can work with ~/.wine/dosdevices/com1 but fails to enumerate com ports. I cannot select port other than COM1 and the combo box that would allow me to do that is blank.
I did:
# ln -s /dev/ttyACM0 ~/.wine/dosdevices/com5
# sudo chmod g+rw,o+rw /dev/ttyACM0
and added to registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM]

I'm trying to get work a win32 application (for NT) that communicate

No problems if I configure the modem on the first two com ports, but I

The command is:
wine --winver nt40 gpcwin.exe
Here is the error:

COPILOT Glucose Meter COM problem
I am a 62 year old beginner in Ubuntu. Thanks for any help, guidance, suggestions on this problem!
I have used commands like the following to be certain that I have an active com port:
dmesg | grep ttyS
rm com1
ln -s /dev/ttyS0 com1
So I suspect the solution lies somewhere in WINE.
If all else fails I will get a USB to SERIAL converter cable and try that.

Any work done on the Com Ports?
I have two questions.
In setting the COM ports someone posted that the Symbolic link should be
ie... /dev/ttyS0 > com1
Is it suppose to be upper or lower case for COM1????
Also has there been any recent work on the COM ports? I have an
application that works fine with vmware but under Wine. The COM port
isn't even seen.

How to Export COM port to guest domain
Greetings,
Using Xen 3.1 and Fedora 7, is it possible to export the serial
interface such that I can access
external devices on COM1 or COM2?
I am uncertain if PCI pass-thru is needed or if there''s nothing to
configure for this to work in
a fully virtualized Linux guest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Tony Johnson

COM ports are not getting locked
I have an application(actually 4 apps) that uses 4 different serial devices. Each has been mapped properly and can be seen or used by the applications individually. However the apps do port enumeration to find the proper device to use. When a new device is enabled wine crashes HARD. The reason is wine is not locking a say com1 once it is in use and the new app starts scanning from com1 and can

USB Serial Port receives no data
Hello,
I have an application that sends data out to a serial port, then should
receive the reply.
After some hassles I got the application to enumerate the serials (in a
dialog box where you select the port), and after creating the link in
dosdevices (in lower case I should note, wine will not recognize COM1)
it actually starts sending out data (verified using a terminal on the
other end).
But

Questions about building R extensions from C, data/ and man/, sbml file
Hi,
I am building the package in R using

>R CMD check ./mypackage
However I have a problem when running the examples in the manual files. The
problem is that I used a specifice type of file that is not table, thus I
guess data() can't be use to indicate the use of that particular file in the
directory data/. Do you have any idea how

WG: Re: Wine and the serial port [LONG]
Hi, I applied your patch and recompiled, but I'm still having trouble. In
what follows I've tried to describe some details.
The first problem was this: The Comm-Port gets opened with overlapped I/O.
However, for WaitCommEvent() we do not specify an overlapped structure. This
works fine on NT4 / W2K, but is contrary to the documentation, which
specifys that you need to supply an
