Problems with Wine on Debian
Hello all,
I am fairly new to Linux, so I hope that the following problem is not just me being ... new to Linux.
I have been trying to install Wine on Debian (Etch 4.09 I think it is called). I first tried to use the
apt-get install Wine
command followed by the winecfg (creating the .wine folder), but when I tried to run the notepad.exe (i.e. with the command wine

Trying to upgrade from R 2.7.1
[Running debian stable]
I followed the instructions at
http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian, adding
deb http://cran.R-project.org/bin/linux/debian lenny-cran/
to /etc/apt/sources.list. But apt-get still leaves me with R 2.7.1.
How can I diagnose what's wrong or correct this?

Best way to handle include files?
Hi folks,
I am building a new box. Want it to look
pretty much like an older Asterisk 1.2,
Debian box that is in production. The new
box will used as a test box before we
implement changes to the production box.
New box:

apt-get update: GPG error from cran.R-project.org
I recently was forced to do a dist-upgrade and rebuild my kernel, so a
lot has
changed on my system, and I don't know if that is related to the errors
& warnings
I get from apt-get update.
Any ideas?
thanks

pcre problems
Still something wrong. I've uncommented the deb-src lines in
sources.list as you suggested (and I thought it couldn't hurt to try
--allow-unauthenticated as well) and:
root at limpet:/etc/apt# apt-get update --allow-unauthenticated

It seems you need to enable source code? repositories on your system
(and then run apt-get update).
You can enable them in /etc/apt/sources.list, uncomment all lines

need help installing new Wine version on Debian Etch
I want to install a new version of Wine because the one I installed with apt-get in Debian is quite old and buggy (0.9.25).
So after doing "apt-get uninstall wine", I followed this guide (http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb), to install a newer wine version but encountered a few problems:

Still hitting odd problems trying to install R 3.5.2 on Debian amd64 machine
My Emails a week or so back were about installing Rstudio and the R shiny server on Debian. I was using an old Toshiba laptop as a sandbox for that and it would only install i386 (same for Ubuntu). Using the information at https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/ I did get to the point where I had R 3.5.2, Rstudio and the server on there (with some help from Dirk that is in the list archives).

Strange Conflicts with Debian Repositories
Dear All,
I have just installed a fresh Debian testing (squeeze) on my system
(amd64 architecture).
I am experiencing some really strange problems in updating my system
whenever I have both the R repository and the multimedia repository
available.
This is my source.list (when I disable the multimedia repository)
~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list

I broke WINE plz help.
I changed this week to Ubuntu from winows 7.
I spent the last few days trying to get World of Warcraft to run. After tossing lots of code at this and days on the net I was able to get it to work using PlayOnLlinux and WINE.
Today...I thought I would work on getting my MS Office 2010 to install and work. I hosed every thing. Had MSXML issues and sorm rtpd4.dll file I had to down load and over
