How about this replacement of WINE
From what I see on their descriptions (site is in Chinese!), this is NOT a
replacement of WINE. They place certain system services in the kernel and
have compile kernel-module (.ko) to service them. The kernel patches are very
small so this is not "bloat" as someone has stated. My main question is how
such patches effect OTHER common patches, especially real-time pre-emption.

Encoding discrepancy with flac-1.1.4 on Linux and FreeBSD
A friend and I mirror our music collections on each other's servers;
between the two of us we have several hundred gigs of flac files. My
friend runs Linux, I run FreeBSD.
Recently we started playing with flac-1.1.4 (we had been using flac-1.1.2
previously) and I noticed something strange.
flac-1.1.4, run with identical options on identical files, produces
different output on the linux

UID -1 and --link-dest problem
Hi,
I'm not sure if it's rsync or Cygwin problem, but most probably both..
Here is a short description:
I run rsync daemon on Windows machine (either latest cwRsync or Cygwin
versions) and synchronize a Windows directory to Linux server as root:
linux# rsync -avH --numeric-ids 10.0.0.1::test /export/test1/

Re: ACM codec
Mr. Blum,
I had to make some assumptions writing the driver, because I had no previous
experience writing ACM drivers. I did what I could based in Microsoft's
documentation but, of course, I made same mistakes. I had no time to test
the code I wrote yet and will not in the next 2 weeks. All I can tell you
now is about what I did and about my sources. So, considering your
enthusiasm, I suggest

Need some help on using Wine with DDK 2000
Hi,
I am a newbe with Wine and I need some advice..
I have 2 partitions on my computer: Linux + winnt40.
I use wine for developping drivers for W2K (yes it is NOT a joke!)
under Linux (some kinda of cross-compiling if you want ..).
So for compiling and linking it works flawlessly (really!) and
it's GREAT!
The only problem is that I cannot browse the DDK documentation.
For doing that

Trying to install a digi dgrp driver on RHEL3 runing the XenU kernel. I am looking for a DDK that has the RHEL3 kernel (version 2.4) in it. All the DDK''s available for download use a kernel version 2.6.

(I am not sure if this is a bug or a request for a more understandable

Intel MKL compiling issue

I successfully built R-rc_2017-04-19_r72555.tar.gz with icc & MKL on centos 7 with this:

Confusing error message when pointing the linux installer at a missing directory.
Last night, I was trying to install syslinux (5.01) to a SD card of
mine, writing to a subdirectory to keep the layout neat:
syslinux-5.01/linux# ./syslinux -i -d /boot /dev/mmcblk0p1
/dev/mmcblk0p1: No such file or directory
The message is coming from do_open_file() in syslinux.c: the call to
open() fails because the containing directory isn't present, and then it
calls perror(opt.device).

DDK for XCP 1.1? igb driver issue, XCP 1.5?
As seen on the mailinglist, many have been hit by the issues with the
igb driver included in xcp 1.1 and below ( and 5.6 fp* and below as
well ), version 2.4.3, which due to a bug prevents VLAN tagging and
other features from working correct (sr-iov). This mainly affects
systems with Intel 82576 nics.
There are work arounds for this, mainly updating the driver from
intel, see here:

[LLVMdev] LLVM/LLVA on IMSYS WISC CPU
There is a strange Writable Instruction Set Computing CPU from Imsys (Sweden) based on FPGA.
Is it possible to setup the IMSYS CPU for running applications based on LLVA/LLVM?
Thank you.
Swedish microprocessor developer Imsys Technologies has released three devices in its reconfigurable family of processors. Unveiled at the Microprocessor Forum in San Jose, each device combines the processor with
