Trying to install an app from floppy
I've installed 1.0.r4 -- yes, it's kind of old, but seems to be the latest binary available for FreeBSD 7 -- and it doesn't want to run a setup.exe from the floppy drive. $ rm -rf .wine $ wine a:setup.exe wine: created the configuration directory '/home/perryh/.wine' wineserver: fcntl /tmp/.wine-105/server-53-772d/lock : Invalid argument $ wine 'a:\setup.exe'

Mach-O support in lld: what are the known issues?
I'd be interested in the existence of a high-quality, open-source, portable linker for apple platforms, but not enough to help make that happen. If I _was_ gonna work on something related to that, I'd probably be inclined to instead add any required features to allow an ELF linker to target a notional darwin-elf target, and to have clang emit darwin-elf object files, and then write a

Mach-O support in lld: what are the known issues?
Hello all, I'm trying to better understand the state of Mach-O support in lld. The lld docs state that "the linker supports ELF (Unix), PE/COFF (Windows), Mach-O (macOS) and WebAssembly in descending order of completeness." [1] True to that statement, I found an email on this list from Jan 2018 stating that "MachO support in lld is not really ready for real world usage. It was

Is it possible to get a premade query for bugs whom have not had activity for 6+ months? There was one as a sticky in the past. Thanks!

MS-DOS Batch File Commands
I'm trying to get the AndroidSDK going under Wine. There are problems with the MS-DOS commands (for example, the /D option with the 'For' command and the use of options to apply to the Path environment varaible (to prevent space being used as a delimiter between path folders) it uses in the supplied batch files it calls from a supplied .exe file. I presume that the cmd.exe (in

Bugzilla comment
too many UNCO bugs are listed for wine < 1.0 . I suggest purging or archiving the really old ones since they must have been fixed or no-one cares for them atm. Either way they're too confusing!

Want to help Wine?
Howdy Wine users! Looking for an easy way to help Wine? There are plenty of bug reports that could use a retest in current Wine, but developers are busy fixing bugs :-). Here's a list of bugs (536) that have a download available, but haven't been checked on in the last 6 months. If you'd got time and bandwidth to kill, and want to help Wine, please test them. After testing, leave a

Plan for libguestfs 1.30
It has been a ludicrously long time (over 8 months) since the last stable release of libguestfs. So I'd like to plan a new 1.30 release soon. Please follow-up if there are features / blockers / bugs that need to be addressed for 1.30. As usual, bugs which have "1.30" (without quotes) in the Devel Whiteboard field in Bugzilla are nominated as blockers for the release. You can see

Plan for libguestfs 1.36
Libguestfs 1.34 was released on 2016-08-08, which is about 6 months ago. I'd would like to think about what needs work for the next stable 1.36 release, which might happen at the end of this month. Any new APIs added in the 1.35 cycle will become supported and guaranteed when we release 1.36, so we need to check those. See: git diff v1.34.0 -- generator/actions.ml It looks like there

How Functional is Wine's IE supposed to be?
I haven't said much about this, but Wine's Internet Explorer has never really worked as web browser. I understand that the main purpose of Wine's Internet Explorer isn't to be a web browser, but to make Windows programs that require MS IE work. That said, one of the Wine 1.4 release criteria is "Builtin iexplore, Gecko". So I figured I should ask, "How functional

Call for volunteers
Howdy Wine users! The list of bugs with downloads that haven't been checked on in a while has gotten pretty long (1,359! as of May 6, 2009). If you're a moderate to advanced user of wine, please help by downloading and testing these applications and testing these bugs. Be sure you're using a recent version of wine (1.1.20 or git) and testing in a clean WINEPREFIX. Quick guide: 1)

Debug data for Wine, DirectX and games.
Hi there wine list this is not going to be a request for help as much as it's a request for how I can help the wine developers. I've got some time over the next couple of weeks and a stack of applications I want to see if I can get running under wine. I thought if I started testing a whole bunch of things I might be able to gather some useful test data for the wine developers as a way

Your Bugzilla bug list needs attention.
[This e-mail has been automatically generated.] You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla bug tracking system (http://bugzilla.netfilter.org/) that require attention. All of these bugs are in the NEW or REOPENED state, and have not been touched in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and decide on an initial action. Generally, this means one of three things: (1) You
