Playing Gamemaker 6 and 7 games on OSX?
I have recently gotten back into making a games with gamemaker. I had a big game that I didn't finish on my old computer running Windows XP. But then my stupid sister dropped my laptop done the stairs. That was about 2 months ago, and I got a new laptop running OSX because my parents hate Windows (while I love it). I was looking through a flashdrive with my stuff from my old laptop on it

Bug 13517: Forums breaking mailing list
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13517 Is Wine going to have to lose even more experienced users over a stupid bug? Does WineHQ really value new users over those who have the knowledge and are willing to help? Let's move towards resolution on this and consolidate on Google Groups already, before it's too late. -- Paul Johnson baloo at ursine.ca -------------- next part

Introduction and question
First let me introduce myself to all the list. My name is Josep and I live near Barcelona. This is my first message to the list (I haven't even read any), and I do not know if it is too easy (my question), or if perhaps it is not possible to do what I'm trying to do. Well, let's begin the interesting stuff and finish all the bla-bla-bla's that most people hate :-D I've

[Asterisk-Dev] WAS: click-to-call cleint NOW: XML Manager I/F str aw poll
Disclaimer: Not trolling. Cross-posting to -users to gague support. -users : Straw poll - if an XML based Manager Interface was avaliable as an option in asterisk.conf, would that be a good thing, or a stupid thing? >Have you ever tried initiating a session via XML with a terminal that >doesn't support backspace... I'm actually proposing that an XML I/F be avaliable as an option

Active directory usergroups to use with samba
Hi, I have a Samba 3 server which authenticate in AD. Is it possible to map windows usergroups against UNIX ones? In the logs, I see several SIDs whenever an user authenticate itself, but I don't know how to use them. For example, here is my [global] [global] dos charset = iso-8859-1 unix charset = iso-8859-1 workgroup = INFELEC realm = REALM.LOCAL

Foxpro configuration
Hi, could someone please give me the correct entries for using Foxpro with a samba share. I tried everything I can think of in the smb.conf but I am always confronted with locking problems and multiuser issues: Upgraded to version 2.2.5 smb.conf (among other things of course) oplocks=off lock spin count = 3 lock spin time = 25 locking=yes Is there anything you can tell me. It is very urgent and

Login script doesn't run - Solved
I hate being stupid. Here is the answer: This won't work: [global] logon script = %U.bat # Win9x needs this This will work: [global] # Win9x needs this logon script = %U.bat The comment has to be on it's own line. Thanks to all for trying to help. Bob Crandell (bob@assuredcomp.com) wrote*: > >Hi, >The login script has worked for our win98 computers

Today is "Rails Hates Me Day"
Has anybody had Rails just refuse to cooperate with anything? I had an application working great in development mode, then switched it over to production, tried to host it, but couldn''t. Some error that I can''t figure out. So I decided to create a simpler application, host THAT in little baby steps until something went wrong so I could tell maybe where I was losing it.

R or S+ !
Hi all ! I'm sure this is a question that annoys some of you but I'm really needing help on this ! I've been using R for about 1 year now. I'm a biologist, so stats are a tool for my research not the end itself. During this time I've enjoyed working with R but the graphical part of it drives me crazy and the small possibilities in terms of reading some file formats also

[PATCH]: Port of openssh-2.1.0p3 to Cygwin environment
Hi all, I have just successfully ported openssh-2.1.0p3 to Cygwin. As you may know, Cygwin is a GPLed POSIX layer for Windows OSes. To be serious: I don't _like_ Windows systems and sometimes I really hate that STUPID concessions which are necessary when trying to get U*X software working on Windoze but for some reason that's exactly the reason, why I love to work on Cygwin! Automatically adjust text size in plot
Hi all, I'm writing a function that will automatically generate a report based on answers to a questionnaire. The exact questions and answers to the questionnaire can vary. One of the question types is in a "matrix" format, where the agreement to several statements can be indicated on a scale. I'm planning to plot this on a multilevel barplot, and only labeling each "bar

I love form_for, but I really hate <% form_for :person, @person, :url => {...} do |f| %> ... <%= render :partial => ''form'', :locals => {''f'' => f} ... <% end %> I''ve been thinking of instead allowing <% form_for :person, @person, :url => {...} do |f| %> ... <%= f.partial ''form''

Now I want to have an pie3D plot of this, but obviously the order of the weekdays are not as one would expect... Friday Monday Saturday Sunday Thursday Tuesday Wednesday 119 173 80

New to CentOS, is this a safe bet?
I know this may be a stupid place to ask, but I have to ask. I'm looking for a new Linux distro to use and support. I've been a loyal purchaser of SuSE Linux Pro for the last 3 years. I've paid my $90 loyally, in part because I wanted money to actually go to someone working on OSS, but also because I thought it was a good bargain, to get a quality, tested distro for that cost. The

RFC: Moving toward Discord and Discourse for LLVM's discussions
The lists are working well for the people who are already invested in the community though - as was identified by Chandler they aren't working as well for new people. I'm an insanely confident Scotsman with just about zero fear of any/all social situations, and I've always found this mailing list to be utterly terrifying (thus I've been a 10 year mostly-lurker). My fear
