How to run a Paradox Game (Victoria/HoI2: Doomsday)
Does anyone know how to do this, I've copied both DD/Arma and Ricky to a directory in my home folder, and try to run it with a command:
wine '/home/myaccount/.wine_c/program files/paradox/doomsday/doomsday.exe'
But i just get errors saying things like "Can't find country.csv" etc.
I had installed both games on my windows machine, and simply copied the install

Having problems installing doomsday
Hello everyone,
I'm quite new to Linux and I'm having a few problems installing Hearts
of Iron: Doomsday. I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and I downloaded and installed
wine (version 0.9.22) from the "add/remove" application. I followed the
instructions on how to install doomsday from the Wine Application DB:
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=5058

Worms Armageddon: cant open Worms Armageddon folder on fake ../drive_c/Team17/Worms Armageddon
Hi, this is my first attempt at using Wine.
After installing wine I tried to install Worms Armageddon with
wine e:/Install/install.exe
at first I got a lot of....
fixme:ntdll:FILE_GetNtStatus Converting errno 38 to STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
around 50 lines, then the installer appeared and I installed as on
windows except to c:/Team17 rather than program files. I then went

Armageddon
I''m just wondering what happened to Armageddon and whether people had
any more information/news about it. I''ve thought about comet but I think
that a flash socket would be easier to implement. Does Armageddon have
the same drawbacks as other flash sockets, namely not working over port
80 (so the companies firewall blocks it)?

Mongrel Web Server 0.3.12.2 -- Iron Mongrel (Parser Fix)
Hello Everyone,
This is an ultra quick announce for a bug fix release to Mongrel. It
corrects a small change in the HTTP parser that causes an error when people
use multi-part forms in a certain way. The fix is literally 4 characters
changed in the parser specification.
Everyone should update to this release and let me know if their forms act
really weird. I''ve tested various upload

A couple of people from VirtualIron got in touch with me following on

there, we == CentOS Project, that the QA guys are looking at using to do
some of their work in )
Over the next few days, the Virtual Iron guys will prolly touch base

armageddon vs. polling for shared resources, ajax, stale browsers
Hi,
I am using AJAX so much that I never refresh the entire webpage for
the admin side of a webapp. If two people are viewing the same data
and one person makes a change then I want the change to show up in the
other person''s page.
I can have the client poll the server every two seconds to look for changes.
I''m not really interested in Comet for keeping a connection open

Europa Universalis 2 crash (Ubuntu 8.04 Wine 1.1.10)
According to the AppDB EU2 1.09 has a platinum rating, but it's constantly crashing on me. I installed the game from the CD, updated to the latest version (1.09), and the game launches just fine. When it gets into the menu I notice that it's running a lot slower than it should be. I can start a single player game and it still runs slow, and then crashes. It doesn't matter what I do in

I''ve just released Juggernaut - a plugin for ruby on rails.
Check out the site: http://juggernaut.rubyforge.org
I?ve also finished a demo that illustrates some of Juggernuat?s

as it?s running from my home machine.

Building ZDoom with winelib
Hi all,
I'm trying to build the Windows version of ZDoom 2.1.7 under Linux
with Winelib. Of course, I know that ZDoom can be compiled natively
under Linux, but I'm aiming to port Skulltag (which is based on ZDoom)
to Linux and if ZDoom can't be build with Winelib, Skulltag can't be
either.
With little modifications I was able to compile ZDoom with winegcc,
but during linking the

restricted shell
Hello,
I would like to elicit a discussion about the merits of a statically linked
restricted chrooting shell like scponly which incorporates the functionality of scp
and sftp. The benefits is that a chrooted user directory does not have to
contain the binaries or libraries for scp and sftp and an administrator does not have to
play games with the home path to chroot a user. The disadvantage, of

We're working on it:
http://buildbot.networkupstools.org/~buildbot/cayman/docs/latest/docs/man/snmp-ups.html#_shutdown
A quick check says that the implementation has been there since v2.6.4, and

snmp-ups shutdowns
This apparently implies that, unlike some docs say, the snmp-ups driver can send the shutdown signals (is not crippled by design)? ;)
Also, are those oids apc-private or commonly used/standard among snmp upses?
Thanks,
