Wine Menu Folders
When I had 0.9.55 I had a seperate Wine menu folder under my Applications menu. Now that I've installed 0.9.56 it's no longer there. Is it specific to each DEB? Or did I install something that I can't figure out now that created those menu folders. I really liked it there.

ubuntu package installs
hello puppet list My puppet server is now working quite wonderfully. Thanks go out to all who have assisted in getting it to this point. At this point in time my config is now correctly installing packages according to arch,os and release. Centos is working quite well as of now, but I am attempting to get the ubuntu side of things to work as well. I am frankly more familiar with RHEL under

stable backport apt problem (solved)
Hello, I started writing this email to describe a problem, then fixed it, so I'll display my ignorance anyway in case other people have a problem with it. What happened was that I could get apt-get to upgrade the documentation packages, but not the others. What I think was the problem was some remaining r-cran-* packages that are now in r-recommended. These seemed to be blocking the

Install latest R version from apt on Lenny
well, I had the site and page and I had added the relevant backport but it didn't work and i keep installing R 2.7 . Don't know why; i probably missed something. #### May be you should add in your mail the file : /etc/apt/sources.list (I suppose there might be a typo, as IT addresses are long and booring, and AFAIK, correcting a typo one made is **very** difficult). FYI binary installs

Ubuntu users, please upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy for Wine 0.9.60 and later
To prevent conflicts when upgrading to 8.04, older releases will no longer be getting Wine updates. Ubuntu Hardy will be released this Thursday, and contains many fixes that also affect Wine, such as support for some missing libraries in the 64 bit version. By default, Ubuntu's update manager will disable third party repositories on upgrade, which will leave you with the Wine included in

Ubuntu and sources.list question about mirror sites...
Evening all: Thought I'd announce myself with a question about setting up sources.list to be able to begin download and install of R. Running version 7.10 of Ubuntu. (Tried 8.04 but found it slow and finicky with my hardware. Perhaps will try 8.10 or above, but that's a thought for another time.) Followed the notes on the R site and added the following lines to my sources.list: deb

Debian patches for Xen 4.5.0 (RC3)
(I hope this is the right address to send this message to.) I've spent the last few days getting Xen 4.5.0 RC3 to form up Debian packages, adapting the files from xen-4.4.1-4. Would you guys like my patches? It was a non-trivial exercise, especially because of commit 2c96ecb1, which invalidated a huge chunk of the quilt patches. I thought it might save you some effort when 4.5.0 is finally

Repository issue with R 2.8.0 in Ubuntu 8.10
Dear List, I'm not an expert on Linux but I have been using Ubuntu and R sice two years ago. I've just installed Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10, Kernel: 2.6.27-7-generic) from the scratch and then installed R, following the instruction given on: http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README, and everything worked fine. However, after the installation I realized that the installed
