Re: Should I report my problem in Bugzilla? Outcast problem.
Hi, I have good news about running Outcast in Wine! Since Wine 1.0-rc2, I can play the Outcast Demo perfectly in Wine (with high quality settings)! The only problem is that the game doesn't run in fullsreen which is a little boring because the Outcast maximum resolution is 512x384... I also get few errors in a terminal output probably due to the main menu (not important!).

Hi, i've applyied some patches to wine to play Outcast. This does't solve the mouse problem, what patch do you use actually and what is your command-line to run the game ? Thank you !

Crosshairs/mouse problem with Jedi Outcast/Academy
I have a problem in both Jedi Academy and Outcast where my crosshairs are sort of sticky or stuttering. When I move the mouse, the screen seems to scroll smoothly, but the crosshairs tend to stay stuck on whatever they are pointing at rather than remaining fixed in the center of the screen, until they jump to get back to the center of the screen or whatever their home position should be. It's

Mass Effect and dinput8
Hello. I had Mass Effect working really well awhile ago with wine 1.2. Somehow the particular prefix I used for it got deleted, and I've forgotten the magic combination I used to get it running. I was using the mouse patch from http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25097 and had set MouseWarpOverride to force-box in the registry, as well as using winetricks to install dotnet 20,

How do I get the Wine *WINDOW* to grab control of my mouse?
Hi, For some (most?) games the screen edges are used for scrolling/turning, etc. Running them in Wine is no problem in full-screen, but in Windowed mode the mouse just moves off, and if the mouse has been 'jerked' fast enough, it is left within the window some distance away from the screen edge. Meaning the window doesn't scroll/your character doesn't turn. Is there any way for

Switching to 16 bit colour ...
"bit of trouble" - good pun! But I do hope it gets solved. Can you make a bash file (oh no - a pun of my own!) to automate any of those annoyances? Would putting the game "in its own WINE" help at all? Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast running very slowly.
The above. Jedi Outcast installed, and ran to the startup screen as normal. Movies played at a reasonable speed. However, the main menu was incredibly slow. I tried changing various settings to LOW, without luck. I searched and found something about running it in 24- bit mode instead of 16-bit mode, but that did not help either, because a) there was no 24-bit mode, and b) 32-bit mode was no

AppdB and Bugzilla suggestion
Video acceleration is an essential aspect of personal computers now, and it's becoming more important every day. Not only for games, but also for most modern OS interfaces, video decoding and all kinds of applications are depending on it now. So, I think both AppDB and Bugzilla should have 2 aditional dropboxes when reporting test data and bugs : one for the video card manufacturer (Nividia,

Mouse wrap problem with Mass Effect on Mac (wine 1.3.23)
I used Wineskin to wrap Mass Effect (1). Wineskin helps me a lot with finding working and non-working versions of Wine and has worked very well for me in the past. With versions later than 1.3.23, (26, 27, 28 ) the game freezes after character creation. So I used 1.3.23. the problem is (still) that the mouse doesn't wrap in-game. This makes the game almost unplayable in combat sequences,

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. dinput patches for Wine 1.4
Hi everyone, I've been installing software on my Mac using Wine for quite some time Mac OS X 10.6.8 2GB RAM ATI X1600 128 MB Not the best specs but you'd be surprised at what will run on such an old rig. My main inquiry for this post is concerning the Stalker series and the patch that fixed the mouse issues present in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat pre 1.4 stable. Since around the 1.3.24

[helpdesk@wolflair.com: Re: Army Builder 3 and linux]
Hello wine-users I'm trying to run the program Army Builder from Wolflair under wine 0.9.7 (freshly compiled on up-to-date Source Mage Gnu Linux distro). The program runs without problems, but wine does not render the ui correctly. All standard buttons in the program fail to be drawn, and are not able to be clicked by the mouse. The fokus-marking around the buttons is however drawn, and

Mouse problems with Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3
I opened a bug regarding this problem. It seems that some patches were applied in 20050324 that messed up the mouse registering clicks. For Diablo 2, the mouse isn't rendered to the right/bottom 1/8th of the screen. And in both Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3, it seems that mouse events aren't being processed in those areas. I've opened a bug: http://bugs.winehq.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3067
