Initial window position with WINE
Some one else (not me -- I have RedHat 7 and can't seem to get a compiler to work) built the current Corel WPO CVS WINE and it seems to work OK except that when I close an application with a full screen it remembers that. But, when I reopen it it is a little to my left and too high to see the decorations on the window frame. Can this be changed with a configuration file somewhere or

Gnome 2.x window placement
When starting a program from the commandline in C5, is there any way to specify where on the screen the resulting window will be put? I have a nuisance of a problem: Running rdesktop with the -D option (which hides window decorations, making the rdesktop window appear borderless), one cannot (as far as I can figure out) drag the window: there are no borders to grab, and alt-drag doesn't work

Window position in managed mode
When starting, for example, FreeCell in managed more, the program opens with the top of the window out of the top of my screen (i.e. the top corner of my desktop coincides with the top-left of the menu bar). It's not a huge problem, but I can't move the program... -- ------------------------------------------------- Richard Spandit Firmly on the Linux wagon SuSE 6.3, KDE 2.0

A couple of bugs...
Hello together! I've found a couple of bugs with current compiz git, most of them related to the use of KDE and wanted to let you know. 1. kde-window-decorator crashes every now and then. This seems to be especially often when starting kaffeine media player, but not exclusively. I've attached a backtrace, though I don't know if it is useful in this form... 2. Resizing a

Capturing the position of a draggable element
I would like to capture the position of a draggable element after it''s being dragged, but I am running into problem using several options, such as "change", "revert" and "onEnd". My callback handler would only fire when the page loads, and not when the element is dragged. How can I make this happen? <html> <head> <script

KDE window decorator
I've added a working KDE window decorator (kwd) to head. It's pretty much written from scratch however it borrows some trivial code from aquamarine which I didn't feel re-implementing. So why did I write a new one from scratch instead of improving aquamarine? I started out by trying to improve aquamarine but as I looked at the code and figured out what had to change to make it work

Rise of Legends video problems
I'm running WINE 1.3.33 (on Ubuntu 10.10 64bit) I've installed the Rise of Legends retail version and that runs fine. The game starts, gives a warning about AGP Texture Acceleration not being enabled, and then ends up with a TINY version of the game screen in the upper left corner of the screen. I can actually almost see the dialogs in the game etc, and when I tried the demo version of

Windowing bug under KDE4.1
I've replaced my video card and am now having MUCH better results with CounterStrike:Source (I love Wine!). Most of my problems were due to a defective EVGA 9600GT. However, I discovered a new windowing bug today with CS:S and other Source-based games (I verified the same behavior under the Zombie Panic total conversion) running under KDE4.1 (no Compiz, Kubuntu 8.10b1). Do this: 1) Start

Problem with decorator and edges
Hi, I've just started using Compiz. I'm running Debian testing on a HP/Compaq nc4400 laptop, and I've installed Compiz from the exprimental repository, 0.3.6 I believe, since the 0.2.2 in testing was rather old. In general I have very few problems, besides having to change my ways of working due to a radically different interface :-) I did run into one thing I don't quite

window decorations explained and how to move forward
The window decoration system in compiz is implemented using a decoration plugin and a separate window decoration drawing application (a decorator). The decorator is drawing window decorations to minimal sized pixmaps. These pixmaps along with sets of coordinates which maps the pixmaps to windows are communicated back to the decorator plugin through a property on the client window. The coordinates

Window positioning is messy
When a window or a dialog of an application opens, it is automatically positioned somewhere on the screen (for example somewhere in the center). In current Wine and Ubuntu Oneiric (I can't tell for other distributions), child windows of automatically positioned windows appear offset, often at [0,0] in the top left corner of the screen. This is not too much annoying for tool windows, but it is

fullscreen uses panning, and xrandr has cursor moving
I'm having a problem with games running in wine fullscreen with nvidia proprietary driver 185.18 under Fedora 11 64-bit. My desktop resolution is 1920x1200, and when I run a game with 1280x960 fullscreen setup (like Halo for example), it changes resolution to 1280x960 and runs fullscreen as expected, but when I move the mouse toward the edge rapidly, it pans the game screen away as if

Disabling mouse tracking when X11 focus leaves wine?
Hello all, I was very pleased to find that Age of Empires II works so well in wine. Now, one hobby of mine is to create custom AI scripts for the game (see www.aiscripters.com for examples), and let different scripts (mine and other people's) play against each other, mostly unattended. The problem is, that the running AoEII game still tracks the position of the mouse pointer whenever I move

Changing the position of the origin
Hi all, Can anyone tell me how I can make 0,0 start at the top left hand corner of a graph, instead of the typical lower left hand corner? I've tried to plot with axes=F and then putting on the axes later, but I want the points to correspond to the axes. Thanks, Kang Min

wine newbie has trouble with T_LOVE95.EXE
I'm new to wine; I'm having trouble running this game, which has been reported to work previously, in the test result http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=4050, with wine 0.9.24 under Ubuntu 6.10 "Edgy". I'm running Debian lenny which has wine-0.9.44. Now I'm enough of a newbie with wine that I presume I'm using wine improperly (but not
