I had about given up on getting this to work. But I read in different forums that it would work, so... I kept fiddling with it and it finally worked. It seems autocad has it's DLLs in a directory called common files, but it couldn't find them. Copying all of the files in that folder to the main ACAD2000 folder made it work. This was the last thing that had me booting XP occasionally. --

I have a samba server that starts creating a lot of processes for each connected user, until it renders the system unusable. Then restarting samba solves it all. The last time it crashed I saw 10-12 processes per user. The number of processes keeps growing until we restarted samba. Right now it's working but I see there are 25 of smbd from root. I am trying to run eDrawings under Wine. Tried 1.2 and 1.3 on both, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid in 32 and 64bit. I try to open an assembly and get "Unsupported File Format". The assembly opens just fine when I run eDrawings under Windows. Does anybody have any ideas? Do I need a winetrick?

I've installed Bentleys Microstation V8, all seems to be working but I can only open files as read only, (even files that I've just created). I have the problem where once a drawing has a lot of layers on it, the layer control dropdown at the top left of the screen starts to open upwards and therefore goes off the screen. It only happens once you have enough layers in the drawing that the dropdown requires a side scroll bar (as far as I can tell). I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and wine 1.3.20

I am likely going to switch a desktop over from Windows to either CentOS or Fedora and run two CAD apps that now have Linux ports. I was wondering as I can't seem to find much specific info about the support of OpenGL in RH based OS's. Does CentOS support this out of the box or do I need to do anything with it?
