Getting EPROM programmer software to work under Wine
I have some software for an EPROM programmer that's intended to run under Windows. Of course, I would much rather it work on Wine... The software in question is available here: http://www.bkprecision.com/products/docs/software/845.zip It installs fine, but when I run it, the software loads it's UI, and then throws up a message box that says simply "EPrivilege". Strange sound problems on Hardy
I am having a strange sound issue that affects all apps on Wine. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and have a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit. Wine version 1.0rc3 is configured to use the ALSA driver. DirectSound hardware acceleration has been enabled a long time before using Hardy and has never caused any problems until now. Regularly the sound of a game/application completely drops until the

I'm using Ubuntu Hardy Heron with a newly installed Wine 1.0.0. When I go into the Audio tab in winecfg and "test sound", it always comes up with a message saying "Audio test failed!" The other thing is that when I run GTA: San Andreas, it comes up with a message saying that it couldn't find an audio card so it doesn't run. Has anyone else had this problem? Any

I hope .) problem: I am searching a function that allows to import jpg files as matrices (n x m x 3) i.e. n_pixels x m_pixels x 3_colors. I have seen the pixmap library, but it seems able only to read BMP pictures (and not all them .). Can someone give me some suggestions ? Thank you in advance.

Ubuntu users, please upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy for Wine 0.9.60 and later
To prevent conflicts when upgrading to 8.04, older releases will no longer be getting Wine updates. Ubuntu Hardy will be released this Thursday, and contains many fixes that also affect Wine, such as support for some missing libraries in the 64 bit version. By default, Ubuntu's update manager will disable third party repositories on upgrade, which will leave you with the Wine included in
