I have a specialist piece of scientific software that I am trying to get to run in WINE (0.9.59 running in Ubuntu 8.04). I have installed the software, but when I run it I get a message saying "Microsoft Scripting needs to be installed. Please install the latest version of Internet Explorer." Any ideas what to do?

I got through with reactos.org using proxy.org! however, silly ISP won't offer support still... I'm going to give them a piece of mind soon... anyway back on topic now. I can finally find this thingy...

Hello, I just installed Firefox 2.0.0.14 ontop of WINE .9.60 in Ubuntu Hardy IA64. The installation was fine but I have no access to the internet when I run the Windows version of Firefox. Sunday I intalled Kubuntu 8.04RC and afterwards discovered that an old 16 bit windows program I've been running for years in WINE will no longer run. At first it told me there wasn't 16 bit support. So, just for chuckles I booted 8.04 with the older 2.6.22.14 kernel and it worked just fine. I prefer to use the new kernel since the scanning software no longer works under the older kernel
