Re: The single major remaining Wine complaint everyone makes...
my thought is that the people that are complaining that the buttons and look of programs running in wine are the same ones that allow Microsoft to keep working on their GUI and not focusing on the kernel of their operating systems (anyone remember the talking paperclip in MSoffice?) They're worried about how pretty everythign is and not how it performs. hence the reason that Vista and xp never

2D Speed? I think 256 color support is more important. Sonic CD in Linux must happen! /sarcasm, slightly...I miss Sonic CD... [Crying or Very sad]
Really though. the fact that I can buy some Windows 98 games at goodwill for 99 cents and know they will run in Linux is astounding. I just bought Heretic 2 for $2 and it runs perfectly.

UXTheme and Vista Styles potential problem
Sure I know vista styles tend to use png images, but I seem to have noticed a potential problem. Unless wine has its own window manager, styles like Windows Aero may look very strange in wine. Reason: Aero is intended to be a unified look and imagine a partial glass look with metacity chopping off part of the theme. Also, how would we know were to start drawing in the aero image resource if we

[Wine 1.3] Desktop integration with .msstyles
.. doesn't work for me. I'm running a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 with wine 1.3.
If I open the desktop integration tab an try to install a theme the winecfg hangs. Installing a theme to windows/resources/themes doesn't help - it is not show in the list of themes after a restart ...
Any suggestions ?

visual theme regression (?)
I use a visual theme (msstyles) that matches the UI of Windows programs to my distribution. However since Wine 2.3.26, many parts of the theme are shown black (probably png images). This happens with any msstyles themes.
Is this bug already known? I searched in bugzilla, but couldn't find anything about uxtheme.dll etc.

Tried to load a theme, didn't work. No error message.
I searched every wine forum and wiki I could find, but there's no
information on wine theming.
I downloaded an *.msstyles file, and opened it with winecfg (Desktop
Integration->Install theme...). Nothing changed. The style I selected
didn't even get added to the list - the only option is still "(No
Theme)". There was no error message.
wine 0.9.8
This is the style I tried:

want to see/dial on the key).
I can press the key and it will dial the extension, it just won't

Using Dropbear for RTOS which is not POSIX complaint?
Hi,
We have a proprietary RTOS which is *not* POSIX complaint. We want to port
SSH server and SCP client onto our platform. How difficult it would be, to
port Dropbear into our platform? We would like to integrate our CLI with the
SSH.
Any recommendations on using Dropbear for our platform? Appreciate sharing
your experiences with Dropbear.

Thanks,

Timo,
After installing beta8 on Solaris 10 sparc and starting it for the

Functioning Samba Install has one desktop causing a complaint ...
... On a LAN consisting of a box with Linux 2.4.21-138-smp using Samba version 2.2.5-UL, all the boxes can log in and see the shares (windoz xp, 2000, me - all smbpasswords set to none), except one that is windoz98. Attempts to connect get "IPC$" login messages. The box that gets the message has a directory/password/smbpassword (set to none) on the Linux machine.
