Properly rating my submissions
Hi, I just wanted to verify the appdb rules/format so I correctly make my submissions in the future. I was surprised when I received an admin edit after submitting: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22285&iTestingId=59851
recently. The game worked completely flawlessly for me, so I submitted it as a "Platinum" rating. However, since I had to set Wine to

ggplot2 / reshape / Question on manipulating data
I'm an R newbie but recently discovered the ggplot2 and reshape
packages which seem incredibly useful and much easier to use for a
beginner. Using the data from the IMDB, I'm trying to see how the
average movie rating varies by year. Here is what my data looks like:

lattice-dotplot: resize axis
dear all,
I want to make a dotplot with ratings from Items in 6 ItemsGroups.
I reordered the items by rating within each group.
I plotted the items by rating conditional on ItemGroup.
The ordering works as I wanted but my y-aches labels (items) within
each ItemGroup are now unequally spaced, e.g., in some panels there is a
gap between one lower rated item and the next higher, to give a picture

acts_as_rateable in Beast
I''m trying to implement acts_as_rateable to my Beast installation to
give users the option to rate posts (like reddit). I chose
acts_as_rateable as it supposedly easily allows reddit-type voting but
I''m having some problems setting it up and the documentation seems
outdated.

Rating competitors
I am looking for hints on how to estimate ratings for competitors
in an ongoing pairwise competition using R... my particular area of
interest being the game of Go, but the idea of identifying ratings
(on a continuous scale) rather than relative rankings seems easily
generalized to other competitions so I thought someone might be
studying something related already.
I presume the rating of a

This diff needs fixing.
It is just me or is the entire Wine AppDB screwed up?
Why is it that people complain when no-cd fixes are used when a programs is rated platinum, yet when you need to set and use native dll's it's okay?
It's either one or the other, for example why is MS Office 2007 rated platinum for? You need native dll's and not wines versions to run it, yet in games that use secu-rom or other

PCA with random effects
I have the results of a rating study in which ~30 participants rated a subset
of 20 items on 25 different dimensions.
I would like to perform PCA on these ratings to reduce the 25 different
dimensions. However, instead of doing this on the mean ratings for each
item, I would like to perform the PCA at the level of individual ratings. I
am assuming that in order to do this I have to specify the

New AppDB - I am the only one to hate it?
Until a couple of days ago, I could look in the AppDB like in a tree from category to category and I had the name of the application IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.
Now there is some field to click, search by rating .etc but if I want to find my application, I have to go through 200 applications rated by last entries.
I seriously don't find anything anymore? Is it a change to make use of the google

Clarification of ratings...
I was browsing apps and looking for games that run in Wine as Gold or better.
The issue is that I see many apps listed as gold that require recompiling Wine with patches to get them to work. From my understanding, any application that requires code changes should be listed as garbage and tied to a patch/bug to be able to operate. That and any application that ranks higher should run under a

calculating average ratings and other imponderables
Okay, this *should* be easy, but it isn''t, although I reserve the right to
smack myself upside the head if it is:
Assume that a smart has_many ratings, and a rating belongs_to a smart (the
models are fine). Each rating has a column smart_id.
Each smart, then, has many ratings, with a column called "rating" that is
an int (1-10).
I want to find, say, the ten smarts with

Rating/Survey Plugin
I would like include the ability for people to rate posts on my site
from 1 to 5. I would like to then display the average rating for each
post. To compute the average each time is obviously database and cpu
intensive. I have been thinking about the best solution. I could
certainly use a cache and expire it every x minutes. However, I don''t
want to reinvent the wheel. Is there

data.frame merge matching several columns
Greetings,
Is it possible to match several columns in a merge statement? Here is my
problem:
data1 looks like this...
SUBID TARGID ITEM RATING
1 1 1 4
1 1 2 5
1 1 3 3
1 1 4 2
1 1 5 5
......
SUBID is the ID for the raters, TARGID is the ID for the targets being
rated, ITEM ranges from 1 to 64 crossed

I have done my first open source project, star rating gem for rails apps
Hello,
Along back I''ve been developing my very first open source project and
finally decided to publish it. It is a star rating system for rails
applications. It works basically like the other systems but I used
different javascript plugin and added some other features such as ability
to re-rate user''s ratings, support for long IDs of users etc etc

sortable_element - Altering defaults set by rails
Hi there, I''ve got the following code to generate two sortable elements
but whenever someone drags and drops an item, i only want it to return a
serialised list of the items in categoryartworks, the unlinkedartworks
can be in any order and I don''t care. I can then delete those artworks
that were in category artworks but aren''t in the serialised list, plus

Re-orderable column DataGrid + Patches for Sortable.delay and Sortable.ignorePositionXY
I would love to get some feedback and test a patch to rev. 4380.
First, the money shot - check out this demo of a scriptaculous DataGrid:

I''m using the <tr> as a sortable with the <th>''s as the sortable elements.

performance
I''ve got a page I''ve implemented a bunch of observables and
sortables. There are around 330 items in the list. The Observables
(for hide/show of sublists) don''t seem to impact performance, but the
Sortables take a very long time to load when the page is refreshed or
submitted--even after accounting for the server-side processing and
latency. I''ve

possible scriptaculous bug
I have two sortable lists, one after the other. I can drag from the first
to the second but not from the second to the first. The behavior is
consistent if n > 2. For example, I can drag from 1 to 2, 3 or 4 from 2 to
3 or 4 and from 3 to 4, but not in the reverse order: I can''t drag from the
4th list to anything (besides itself). From the third list I can drag only
to itself and 4.

Multiple dynamic Sortables
I''m writing an appliation that contains several dynamically created lists. I
had hoped that the following method for using the Sortable library from
scriptaculous would work:
1) create the list
2) create a Sortable for it
3) create another list
4) create a Sortable for it
and so on. Unfortunately this doesn''t work. I can''t find any info in the
documentation for

[PATCH] Enhance vms display
It can be quite hard to manage a pool of 40-50 VMs without informations about the OS running, the contact (which is the only one to know when the vm can really be destroyed) or an End Of Life date. This patch add those fields, and rework a little the VM list view, in order to show gracefully those new fields. It has been made at the expense of UUID, Total Run Time & Load fields. Since those
