Greetings, I have been trying to install Cool Edit Pro 1.2. I'm running Mandrake 8.1, which came with Wine release 20010731. This is a dual-boot system with MS-DOS 6.22 in addition to Mandrake 8.1. There NO version of Windoze of any kind is installed. I have 512 MB of RAM; the DOS partition has 941 MB free and 777 permissions. I mount the CD-ROM drive, cd to it, and execute wine setup.exe

Hi, finally got HL to run at 1024 in opengl. But there are some things which i'm not happy about: 1) Sound lags about 1 sec after the game, EAX doesn't work. 2) Some fonts don't get found (which messes up the scoreboard). Hello, Thanks for all the help so far. I've got nmbd and smbd so they're running now, not being blocked out by my firewall however nmbd is still unable to sync browse lists with my domain master browser, which i don't have as i'm in a workgroup and i'd like samba to be the master browser. I noticed that when i launched WINWORD.EXE the first time it took about 20 seconds to load, but when i ran it on the 2nd time it took about 10 seconds only!, it seems that it is now cached in the memory...I was wodering if it is possibe to load wine as a daemon so that it will be faster to load? sort of like a daemon? does my analogy here make sense?
