How long to 1.0?
Hi! I'm wondering how close Dovecot can be said to be to 1.0 "Final". How stable can the alpha branch be said to be? I was browsing around the Dovecot homepage, but I couldn't find any answer to this question. I hope it hasn't been asked (too many times) before. Fredrik Tolf

Process dataframes from list
Hi all, I have roughly fifty dataframes and a dataframe with the names of the fifty dataframes. I want to perform the same set of manipulations on all fifty dataframes, but can't find a way to batch process from a list with the dataframe names using a loop. Is there a way to read the file names from the dataframe with the names and then call the referenced dataframe? This would save me a

OT: sample rate and emu10k1
This is slightly off-topic, but since we're talking about sample rates perhaps one of you can help. I have a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card installed in a nice server running Debian Woody (stable). I have ices and icecast2 working well from recent CVS sources. Linux 2.4.18 kernel using the included OSS/Free emu10k1 driver. Everything works great, but recording from the Line input only works

ext3 oops with 2.4.20
Bug report follows. Please CC me if you want me to read the reply, as I'm not subscribed to ext3-users. [1.] One line summary of the problem: Ext3 has just causing filesystem corruption which required fsck to fix. SoundBlaster Live
Folks, I last saw this problem in a thread in this newsgroup a couple of years ago, but there was no solution then. It was then stated that you couldn't get a SoundBlaster Live sound card to work under Wine because Windows 'ran' everything through the emu10k1.vxd file and Wine did not support vxd files. Is this still the case? Has anyone found a workaround yet? Pete

No subject
I have just moved to a new workplace. I saved an R workspace into an ascii file at my old workplace and have ftp'ed it down here. Unfortunately when I try to load the get a message saying that the file is corrupted. It's a big file, but my experience suggests that this normally refers to a problem at the beginning or end of a file, so I thought it might be worth enclosing just the

.Xauthority & SMB
I asked this question a while ago, but never got any response. Since then, I've researched the problem some more, so I can give a much more concise description of what's happening. I'm mounting the home directories of the users upon login (using pam_mount) from the Windows server. However, none of the users can run X Windows. It says there's a problem with the .Xauthority file.

That age old Midi issue again
I can run most midi apps in wine through timidity with no problem but there are quite a few apps which don't allow you to assign the midi output to timidity such as Media Player Classic or WM player 6. They try to use the windows default which is of course MS synth or Emu10k1. There must be a way of mapping the midi output in wine from such apps to timidity but I just can't get it to

Mouse Cursor drifts in some directx games
Hello, I am currently attempting to run some windows games through wine, specifically Fable - The Lost Chapters and The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind and I am experiencing problems with my cursor drifting during game play. When I start the game (as soon as the menu screen) the mouse is initially stable, but after I move the mouse it will begin to drift vertically down at a constant speed

echo test application delay using the asterisk cli
I'm trying to figure out why I get delay using the echo test application. I'm using the asterisk cli so I got no external factors that could interfere. I'm getting close to half a second delay speaking into the microphone and hearing it out through my speakers. I'm doing lots of audio work (sequencing and recording) so asterisk is definitely the problem. Of course, only thing
