Starcraft (not so) success
The story: I have wine-20010216 with Starcraft installed from within wine. All works well, except, sometimes, in the middle of the game (running as root to get DGA), the mouse and keyboard stop responding altogether, 30 seconds after which the game stops moving (the display freezes altogether). I cannot do anything, not even switch to another tty. My only course is to ssh into the box from

Debugging an exception
Hello. I'm trying to get Dungeon Siege to run with wine 0.9.26. When the menu firt appears, there is an error as soon as the mouse is moved; if I don't move the mouse, there is no error, but I can't play the game. I did a WINEDEBUG=+relay, and I found this: 000b:Call user32.SystemParametersInfoA(00000015,ffffffff,00000000,00000000) ret=7ebc5b0b 000b:Ret

ancient directx version support
What is the status of support for directx2 apps? The "failed to create surface" error in MissionForce: Cyberstorm seems to have persisted forever... I have a +relay log of the said game launch session, (if somebody wants it, i can provide the full version) -- it appears that the graphics backend call pair which causes trouble is to winex11.drv.GetDCEx()/

I built a Windows GUI using DialogBlocks v4.29, saved the resulting XRC for processing with wxRuby''s xrciser tool. Problem with spacing
I''m having the devil''s time trying to get things laid out correctly. I''ve attached a screenshot so that you can get an idea of what I''m seeing. I''ve got a very unattractive space under the two combo boxes, and another one under the buttons. I don''t understand how to reduce this. I know it''s impossible to guess what idiocy I might have

Wine unhandled exception running PocketFMS
I'm trying to get the PocketFMS flight assistant program to work under Wine. This program is available for free at www.pocketfms.com . The installation of PocketFMS works OK with a few 'fixme' warnings, but running the installed program causes an immediate crash. As this program is still in development itself and not designed to run on anything but Windows, I'd like to know if

grid.legend - lines
I am testing out the grid-plots, but get into a problem making a legend. I have a line plot and some points, following the model in grid.plot.and.legend() i manage to get the points correctly in the legend, but what do I do with the line? (Of cource, I can just draw a line at the right location on the plot, but I would prefer to use legend) Morten -- Morten Sickel Norwegian Radiation

Help understanding EVERYTHING
Team, I am trying to learn a GUI for Ruby and I picked wxRuby. The problem is that I am kind of slow learning this and I now feel frustrated after trying for about at least 7 hours. I am trying to design a simple Sudoku 9x9 grid to display numbers, 1 - 9, using buttons. I posted a question on Ruby forum ruby-talk and a gentleman, Alex Fenton, answered my questions. Alex gave me what appear to be
