Bug?
Hi, This might be related to the bug reported earlier about parsing URLs with parens, but the following looks like a bug to me: [ZIP archives](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIP_(file_format) "ZIP (file format) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia") gets rendered by Markdown 1.01 as: <p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIP_(file_format">ZIP

(not necessarily R-related) help with data presentation
I have a question which is not necessarily related to R. I want to use a distorted political map of the world with certain countries increased in size according to a certain variable (an idea similar to the homunculi usually found in psychology textbooks) to demonstrate the coverage of particular countries in a news service. Does anyone have any idea of how to approach this? I don't think

Im new to Wine (and only recently switched to Linux). openssh-2.1.1p2 problem and fix
Hi all, trawled through the archives and did'nt find what I was looking for so here goes. This may be common knowledge or may not for the developers here ... maybe it will save someone some time anyhow. I'm running Redhat 6.2, **2.4.0-test1 kernel**, openssh-2.1.1p2.tar.gz, openssl-0.9.5a.tar.gz, with these options. sh configure --with-tcp-wrappers --with-md5-passwords

multiple instances?
Hello, unosonic, nope.... I got nothing. All I get is error code 200 or 10061 in Sam's encoder window. (I'm using it because it gives me some sort of error code feedback unlike winamp's DNAS) btw, what's up with the oddball ascii arrows in the XML files? A day of trying to get something to work
Well, after spending a day of working with trying to install an assortment of progams on my Wine installation for SuSe 10.0, I'm giving up. Every time I get almost to the point where I think it could be useful, something happens. The latest was a complaint at the very end of the extensive install for Brittanica encyclopedia, saying something couldn't be found. Why does everything have

conditional IF with AND
Hi everyone, I'm trying to create an "if" conditional statement with two conditions, whereby the statement is true when condition 1 AND condition 2 are met: code structure: if ?AND? (a[x,y] <condition1>, a[x,y] <condition2>) I've trawled through the help files, but I cannot find an example of the syntax for incorporating an AND in a conditional IF statement.

Protect Icecast Admin/Run on different port?
Hi list, We're new to Icecast and we're looking at securing the admin functions. I've trawled the docs but it's not clear to me if we are able to run this on a different TCP port to the streams themselves. Has anyone with a little more experience any insight into this? Thanks, David.

Some display issues
Hello, I just got wine for my computer and I gotta say that it is awesome :D However, I am having a slight problem. I just put my copy of Encyclopedia Britannica and Halo on it and they are both having issues. With halo I do not see any visual effects, only a white background and black buttons on the main menu (or vice versa, I can't remember which way it was). With Britannica my screen

Hi all, I'm having trouble with the model generating 'dredge' function in the MuMIn 'Multi-model Inference' package. adding text to y-axis per row of panels (lattice)
Dear all, Being a newbie to R, I've trawled through many old posts on this list looking for a solution to my problem, but unfortunately couldn't quite figure it out myself. I'd be very grateful if someone here on this list could perhaps help me out. I have a lattice plot with several panels and would like to add some text next to the y-axis on the right hand side of each row of

I've got a developers kit on its way and I've managed to get hold of a couple of cheap Cisco VIP 30 phones. I've trawled the web and found a few snippets of information on these phones but I still can't get them to work. Does anyone have any config files or any idea on how (if I can)

Skipping panels in Lattice
Dear all, I wish to generate a lattice boxplot which skips an empty cell in a design. I have trawled r-help, scruitinized xyplot(lattice) help page, and merrily reproduced examples of using skip from a couple of previous r-help queries and the example given in Pinheiro & Bates. But I must be missing something... Here's an example (running R 1.9.1 on Win2k): # generate some data df1
