Running ChildView under Wine 20021031 - Codepage 850?
Hello fellow Wine users: I'm in the process of moving all our desktops over from Windows 98 to Linux (via LTSP), and we've got everything aced except for one &*!^* app. We've run Amicus Attorney underneath wine for some time now, and it works a treat. However, Childview has proved to be... somewhat more reluctant. As far as apps go, it isn't that complicated. It's

Cannot install directx9 using winetricks
I have a problem since reinstalling my computer with Ubuntu 10.10 x64. Previously I used Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit and things worked nicely, so I am not sure if the problem is the step from 10.04 to 10.10, or the step from 32 to 64 bits. Now when I try to use winetricks to install directx9 (needed for Fallout3), I get an unhandled page fault when DXSETUP.exe starts to run: Code: Executing wine

Question about installing DirectX
I have a quick question - I have been starting to test if bugs are still in the current git of wine. When trying to test a DirectX bug I came across this weird behavior and I am trying to figure out why/if there is a problem or I'm doing something wrong/different. Here's the scenario: 1. Make and install current git of wine (did with 1.1.23-xxx and 1.1.24 and currently trying with

Re: Call for volunteers
Austin - another quick question: I've tested a few bugs using the latest compiled fresh from git (wine-1.1.23-273-gc293285) but then began wondering if I should be using the latest beta instead - 1.1.23? I'm also confused if I'm doing something wrong because I tried to install directx 9.0c to test dxdiag and after extracting I ran wine dxsetup.exe. That failed with these errors and

Solaris 9 and secondary group info from LDAP (Bug 395) - PATCH AVAILABLE from Sun
Hi, finally the compatibility problems between the LDAP libraries from Sun and OpenLDAP on Solaris 9, known as bug# 395, are solved. With Patch-ID 112960-22 everything is working as it should. Tests were OK for a Samba PDC with LDAP backend and a Samba fileserver with "security = ADS", both on Solaris 9 with native Sun LDAP client. Secondary group information is requested from the LDAP

Hi, When run with WINE, setup.exe 2.194.2.15 displays stranges characters in the window title (non-blocking problem), but stops function after choosing the mirror. (the only one that appears is the last used when running the previous version). A subwindow is apparently tried to be open. ZFS space map causing slow performance
Hello, I have several ~12TB storage servers using Solaris with ZFS. Two of them have recently developed performance issues where the majority of time in an spa_sync() will be spent in the space_map_*() functions. During this time, "zpool iostat" will show 0 writes to disk, while it does hundreds or thousands of small (~3KB) reads each second, presumably reading space map data from

Wine and /home partition woes on Gentoo/amd64
I apologize if the question has been posed before, but I did not find any similar posts by browsing or searching through the forums. Here it goes: I have been using Gentoo Linux for a year now, and never have I had a problem I couldn't solve. However, not long ago I bought a 1 TB hard disk which I divided into 7 partitions: /boot, (swap), /, /var, /tmp, /usr and /home (yes, that's FreeBSD

DISPLAY problems
I have found the problem (and it's not with wine): The "Connection Refused" error was happening during the process of the LoadLibrary-ing of x11drv. The reason this was happening is that x11drv was loading OpenGL (libGL.so, etc.). Since I have a NVidia on tux, I was running NVIDIA GLX. The bug was with that. The hardcoded opening of :0.0 (despite $DISPLAY set otherwise) was
