Want to help Wine project?
This message is for those who wants to help Wine
project but do not know where to start.
We need contributors of a wide range of skills.
The minimal requirements are:
access to a computer with Linux (or other Unix-like
system) where you can use Wine.
We have a lot of tasks which are relatively easy to
do.
The fact that these tasks are easy does not mean they
are not important.

Running Outlook
Dear friends,
I managed to run Outlook to the point where
it just want to resolve the Exchange server name
into IP. To hack it, I used native Windows DLL's.
Along the mapi*.dll one, I setup as native
"rpcrt" = "native"
"rpcrt4" = "native"
My first clue when Outlook freezed was to put mpr.dll,
as native, but I pointed, that, even Outlook cannot

Meditech and Wine
I am trying to get our Meditech application to work on a Mandrake 8.1 in
GNOME. I am getting the following messages when I try to run it:
The application runs, sort of. The screen is a complete mess.
Warning:
The Wine launcher is unable to find xmessage.
The launcher script relies heavily on finding this tool, and without it,
it will behave poorly.

FreeType 2.1.2
I upgraded FreeType to 2.1.2 and it broke WINE.
Is there a simple way to link WINE to: "libfreetype.so.6.3.0" rather
than: "libfreetype.so.6"?
Or, is there some other way to fix it?

wine on non-x86 architectures (presumably silly question)
I wouldn't think it's possible but I'd like to know (with an
explanation, if possible): Can you run win32 apps with wine on non-x86
computers, e.g. under LinuxPPC?
I guess not, but I wouldn't be able to give a clear explanation as to
why.

Sound Forge 5 and wine-20020605
I recently removed the wine provided with RH 7.3 i386 (following the
codeweavers directions for completely removing the old wine) and
installed wine-20020605 from the source, without any noticeable problems.
Sound Forge 5 worked perfectly under wine-2002037 , but I'm not able to
get the open dialog box to work in wine-20020605. Loading native DLL's

It loads and diplays Ok, I can get the help info and previews pop up for project templates. All seems well until I try to open a template, a recent project or any .php file from a directory. In the first two instances I get a box saying the file could not be

Getting at the "default Windows short date"
I've had some great success with wine recently, but am a little unsure about
the best way to attack this problem.
I want to run an accounting program called Cash Flow Manager under wine.
(As it happens, this program is our last dependency on Windows apps in our
office, everything else is OpenOfifce.org and RH Linux).
When I run the application:

I think the problem is that your icecast is wrong configured.
If it has an configuratrion error that dows not shut it down at startup,
it takes 99,9% cpu usage (thats my problem with, for example, a wrong path
to configuration file at startup, or something like this).
Greets,
Stefan

flac-1.0.3_beta released
Awesome, I'm psyched for 1.0.3.... the ID3v1 winamp2 support will be a
neat addition, as is the faster decodes. Will 24-bit audio play nice with
the final public version of 1.0.3?

flac-1.0.3_beta released
I have just released a source distribution which is the
candidate for the 1.0.3 release. At this time I would
ask anyone who is willing to help test it to do the
following:
1. download the tarball and unzip it:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.0.3_beta-src.tar.gz?download
2. do
./configure && make && make check
This will build all code and run all the tests.
