MS Office 2000 Small Business instalation problem
Hello.
I'm trying to install MS Office 2000 Small Bussiness (Polish version) with
latest CVS wine. First I get a small message box that tells me, that my
Windows Installator is being upgraded, then I get an error message, that
could be roughly translated as:
"Windows system Installer in this system has been upgraded. You have to
restart system to finish this upgrade

regapi with global registry
Hi,
I have a global windows fake tree, which every user in the
group "wine" can access.
However I got a problem dealing with new applications installed.
When a user (any user, even root) installs an application, the
registry entries goes to $HOME/.wine/*.reg .
This also means that other users will not be able to use
it because of the missing registry entries.
I use the regSet.sh,

Longman dictionary installer debugging
Hi!
I'm trying to install the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (which I
have got with the book with the same name).
I'm running:
the latest wine release (20020228)
Redhat 7.2
gcc 2.96-98
fake windows dir (altough I have tried it with a win98 install a month ago)
The installer is an installshild with win16 libs.
When I run it, it puts up a message box, that the install files

Unable to utilize past 1 gbps
Hi Zsolt,
looking at the metrics from Proxmox it doesn't look like anything breaks
there. What about at the operating system level? Could there be some
limits there? Have you checked corresponding kernel or system logs?
Which OS/distribution are you using? Checked the logs there? If nothing
screams there, maybe start looking at a load balancer and scale with
several more VMs?

A quick Google search indicates that it might be a Proxmox limitation:

Dear Marius,
In addition to that attached please find a screenshot from Proxmox on
statistics.
Do you know any ice cast servers that puts out more than 1 gbps for a
longer period? Just curious whether anyone was able to go beyond 1 gbps for
an extensive time.
Thank you!
Best,
Zsolt

R-WinEdt question - answer
The answer to my question was contained in
http://cran.r-project.org/contrib/extra/winedt/ReadMe ,
although it helped to receive the restatements that were emailed to me.
As mentioned by Uwe Ligges, Renuad Lancelot, Niels Waller, my mistake was
not starting R before
using R-WindEdt.
Below I will copy the instructions on using R-WinEdt by Renaud Lancelot

metacity theme opacity
I pushed out some changes to gwd that makes it possible to properly set
an overall opacity value for any metacity theme. Making the complete
decorations translucent can look bad with some themes. However, I've
made it possible to have the opacity fade from opaque to the selected
opacity value in a similar way to how the built-in decorations look.
This usually looks a lot better.

Keyboard focus in 'some' wine apps (games)
Hi,
I've noticed, now that I'm using twinview, that when I click any other window outside of the Wine desktop (Civ4 or WCIII normally), I can click back to the Wine desktop but can no longer use any of the keyboard shortcuts. Things work fine before actually clicking outside the wine window (for example, on my Pidgin chat window).
This happens whether the app is run in windowed mode or

Windowing bug under KDE4.1
I've replaced my video card and am now having MUCH better results with
CounterStrike:Source (I love Wine!). Most of my problems were due to
a defective EVGA 9600GT.
However, I discovered a new windowing bug today with CS:S and other
Source-based games (I verified the same behavior under the Zombie
Panic total conversion) running under KDE4.1 (no Compiz, Kubuntu 8.10b1).
Do this:

window decorations explained and how to move forward
The window decoration system in compiz is implemented using a decoration
plugin and a separate window decoration drawing application (a
decorator). The decorator is drawing window decorations to minimal sized
pixmaps. These pixmaps along with sets of coordinates which maps the
pixmaps to windows are communicated back to the decorator plugin through
a property on the client window. The coordinates

Why does gdk_window_get_frame_extents give me different results on compiz vs. metacity?
Hi all,
I'm trying to do some window positioning for a GTK window. I compute
positions based on current window sizes and that works well under
metacity using gdk_window_get_frame_extents.
Under compiz positioning is all off, because that function yields
different results with windows decorations being the same (gnome window
decorator etc.).
With mc I get a height of 67, with compiz of 43
