Win XP Profiles
Please, please help me. I am running RH6.2, Samba 2.2.4 and Windows XP (with sign seal patch). Samba is my PDC. I want to use roaming profiles and it nearly works except for something really strange. When I logon to the Domain as a user and make changes to files etc and then log out it updates my roaming profile perfectly on the server. As the same user if I logon to another machine it also

Simple xen devel project: try out new compression algorithm (with tmem)
If any new Xen developers are interested in a simple project to learn Xen development (and also Xen Transcendent Memory), it would be interesting to test this in Xen. AFAIK, the only extensive use of compression is with Transcendent Memory ("tmem"), so learning about tmem would be a useful side-effect. Thanks, Dan

vpimd, a personal information server
This isn''t even close to ready for release, but in case anybody is interested, has feedback, finds it useful as is, or even wants to collaborate... I''ve been working on a "personal information server", something of a protocol multiplexer. Right now it serves calendar feeds for: - a local calendar folder (iCal 1.x''s Library/Calendars) - rss for local todos

Cisco 7940: showing FWD in display.
Hello all, this may be slightly offtopic :-) I have some Cisco 7940 phones with SIP firmware, connected to an Asterisk 1.2.18-BRIstuffed-0.3.0-PRE-1y-g (HorstBox Pro with custom extensions.conf). On some of the phones, two lines are configured, one for business, one for private calls. When forwarding a line to another destination (e.g. to voicemail), we can't use the phone's own

URL in Queue App / Determining the DID/Queue at Agent's Phone
I'd like for our custom soft phone to be able to know what queue, and/or what DID is calling an Agent's phone before the agent picks up. The agent is using the AGENTCALLBACKLOGIN. One agent can be in multiple queues so it would be nice if they could get a pop up window telling them who's on the line before they pick up and hear the announcement telling them that. I'd like

wine on Mandrake 7.2
Hi, I managed to run United Devices client on Redhat 6.1 with wine-20010326 (after applying a patch that was posted here), but on Mandrake I get errors (below). It brings up the application, but sometimes gets stuck and doesn't open a System Tray window, as it does on the RedHat. (So once you "minimize" the app it's gone for good). Any help appreciated Zeev $

presence settings and Eyebeam
What is the proper way of adding hints to multiple extensions? In my case extensions are the same as the sip usernames, while as per http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20presence exten => 1234,hint,SIP/1234 works, exten => _1XXXX,hint,SIP/${EXTEN} doesn't. Not sure if I can even use ${EXTEN} here... Any hints? Vahan -------------- next part -------------- A

chan_sip not 100% RFC3665 compliant - re-REGISTERs fail.
Greetings, For the past 2 months I've been struggling with registration problems with asterisk+external FXS/FXO gateways (www.addpac.com) that use RFC3665 re-registration procedure. This problem occured for devices with more than one FXS port with a set non-empty password. Those gateway attempt to re-register after the initial register timeout period expires fully compliant with

CVS HEAD voicemailbox full error
Anyone else has problems with CVS HEAD's from today with voicemail hanging up silently without any debug/error messages when checked? It also keeps insisting that the user's voice mailbox is full and can't store more messages even if I clear/rebuild the /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail stuff. I've tried falling back to voicemail.conf entries from realtime voicemail with the same

newbie question on file perms
Hi, Hope this question isn't too stupid, or addressed to the wrong crowd.... Am running samba-1.9.16p2 and am having troubles getting the "create mode" or "create mask" designators in the smb.conf file to be honored. All files created on the pc's are coming out 740. Would like them to be 755. Am I missing something obvious? Servers are solaris 2.5.1 tia, -jeff

Internal error with domain login
Hiya everyone. I guess this isn't something that causes much concern, since it doesn't happen very often. When I try to log in to a domain as a user that has an invalidated password (32 Xs) Samba gets an internal error. I haven't really had a hard look at why it might be doing that as yet, but I thought I'd make you aware of the problem and ask if anyone has had similar
