Wine multimedia modules
When I try to start my app, I get: ------------------ snip ------------------ frank@limedes:/mnt/zeug/C4DNET_R73 PC > /usr/local/bin/wine C4D_NET_Client.exe err:mmsys:MMDRV_InitHardcoded You didn't setup properly the config file for the Wine multimedia modules. Will use the hard-coded setup, but this will disappear soon. Please add a WinMM section to your Wine config file.

Unerwartetes Dateiende. which translates into Fault 1: Unexpected EOF Going throug the debug output, I noticed file accesses for warn:file:FILE_DoOpenFile 'd:\visio\system\filter32\emigs9.flt' not found or sharing

wineconsole regression
I am using the Daily Debian Wine builds (used to be the 'Drunkard' builds) to run the freeware version of the IDA Pro disassembler (see http://www.datarescue.be/downloadfreeware.htm). Until about two or three weeks ago it would run OK using wineconsole. Since that time, the window pops up then immediately disappears. Wineconsole exits with "Wine failed with return code 1". I

How to troubleshoot network woes with Wine?
The app which I am currently trying to get to work properly (Cinema4D network rendering client - it does work 90%, depending on how you look at it) does some weird things, like receiving jobs from a server, computing them, and sending the rendered scenes back to the server (actually I don't know if it's sending them back, or if the server is fetching them; I don't even know what the

Vue xStream install problem
Just a funny tiny thing I cannot work around... Vue xStream (a Vue landscape generator version that integrates into Maxon Cinema 3D package) asks where the Cinema 4D folder is. However, the window it provides to locate C4D catalog, has the following flaws: 1. it does not see .wine catalogue in my home one, just displaying "non-dotted" folders only, 2. the alternative text-based input

Qts - L --mLock option
Hi All Going through the options tinc has . Can someone explain exactly what the purpose is for -L option for the runtime command. So does this mean that tinc will run in RAM and will not be saved in swap (default) ? ================ -L, --mlock Lock tinc into main memory. This will prevent sensitive data like shared private keys to be written to the system swap

If you want to enable it, be sure to understand the implications of locking a process in RAM; you should have more RAM than the tincd process memory will ever use, and you should check that there are no resource limits that prevent tinc

How to help improving Wine?
Hi, I really did my best to understand how I can help improving Wine, but I did not succed. Well, everything started when I installed a win application on my Debian 3.1, Wine 2004.07.16 deb (clean install, no dlls). The application is ALOHA (http://www.epa.gov/ceppo/cameo/aloha.htm) It's a free application from US-Environment Protection Agency used for chemical emergency planning (I am an

Saab Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) hangs upon startup
Isn't that an ole problem? Have similar problem with Writers Blocks. That's a simple program and all it really does is move blocks of plain text around using ole. -----Original Message----- >From: trash <wineforum-user at winehq.org> >Sent: Sep 6, 2008 7:31 AM >To: wine-users at winehq.org >Subject: [Wine] Re: Saab Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) hangs upon startup

ZFS pool not imported on boot on Solaris Xen PV DomU
Hi, I am trying a setup with a Linux Xen Dom0 on which runs an OpenSolaris 2008.05 DomU. I have 8 hard disk partitions that I exported to the DomU (they are visible as c4d[1-8]p0) I have created a raidz2 pool on these virtual disks. Now, if I shutdown the system and I start it again, the pool is not automatically imported during the boot. If I type zpool status, I can''t see it, so I do a

wintricks dotnet20 install
I am trying to install dotnet20 with winetricks. For previous requirements I have installed vbrun60, vcrun6, allfonts, divx, allcodecs, ogg, quicktime72 and msi2. Now with dotnet20, the windows installer gives me only repair and uninstall options, and if I try repair, it asks for MSI 3.0 installer (an offered install link does not work). Have I triggered an install of dotnet from one of the

Winsock problem: wine client error:0x86f30f0: pipe: Too many open files
I'm still battling with the bleedin' C4D Net client, which fails to do some of the network stuff that it's designed to do. Now I do get an error: If I leave the client open overnight, it eventually loses to connection to the server and the terminal window from where I started the client says: fixme:winsock:NtStatusToWSAError Status code c000011f converted to DOS error code 4 wine

seeking advice on network troubleshooting strategy
Greetings. The application I am trying to get to work under wine (Cinema4D network rendering client) works nearly OK. Just one crucial bit it fails, very unspectacularly and silently, to do. What it's supposed to do: receiving 3d scenes from a server, rendering those, and sending them back - this all works just as under windows, except for the sending back of files. About the only indication

Abiword as test of Wine
One problem with Wine has been that there were few serious open source win32 applications out there to test Wine with (ok, maybe my opinions are from 1997 :-) In any case, we have some great open source Win32 applications to test with. AbiWord is one. I just tried installing AbiWord 0.9 under the latest Codeweavers preview. The install worked -- but generated about a billion warnings of the
