winver & managed question
Hello All, I have just been reading the docs on Wine and came across the --managed Allow the window manager to manage created windows --winver Version to imitate (win95,nt40,win31,nt2k,win98,nt351,win30,win20) Does the "--managed" allow my xserver to take care of the windows? Also, if I set "--winver nt2k" then does this mean that Wine will look for the

mapping a directory
Hello All, I have installed the latest Wine onto my Linux Redhat 7.2 and it seems to run very well for the most part. I can easily map a Linux directory to a Windows drive, but I actually have a need to be able to map a linux directory to windows subdirectory. About the only way that I can currently think of that might work would be to use a symbolic link on the Linux subsystem. cheers, Lonnie

Linux C++ program using 3rd-party DLL?
Hi, I'm working with a spectrometer at an research institute but they only have windows 16-bit dll to control the sprectrometer. The dll is documented. My question is: Can I write a linux c++ program that uses this dll with wine? On the wine webpage it says "Optional use of external vendor DLLs" but how do I do it? On a first glance I have also not found any hints on that in

CD-ROM not recognized
Howdy Folks, I'm trying to run Cryo's Arthur's Knights under wine. I've managed to install using setup.exe, but when I go to play the game, I get an error message telling me to insert CD #1, even though CD #1 is in the CD-ROM tray and mounted. Any clues as to why I would be getting this message, how to convince the game that the CD is actually in the CD-ROM drive, or how to

Application Database RFC
I have done a lot of thinking about the Application Database http://appdb.codeweavers.com lately and how the rating system works. We currently have 848 Applications in there but only 58 with a 5 star rating which works out to less than 10% and thats the good news. The bad news is that of those 58 only 26 rate that without windows installed. After takeing a closer look, none of the apps I

best method to format output of frequency table
I have some security alert log data that I'm parsing and doing some stats on. One of the fields is the "Classtype" which is the enumerated value of the type of alert found. classtypes = factor( alerts$Classtype ) fclass_types = table( classtypes ) fclass_types gives me a frequency table of the intrusion types: fclass_types classtypes

Regarding Pubkey Enumeration
HD Moore from MetaSploit has noted that, given a pubkey (and not the corresponding private key, as might be found in authorized_keys), he can determine if he'd be able to log into an account. It's a small thing, but he's using it for very interesting recon/deanonymization. He'll be releasing a paper shortly, not overplaying the characteristic, but certainly showing it can be used

No implementation for shlwapi.dll
Tried every permutation of shell, shell32 & shlwapi. It is clear that shell & shell32 must come from a common source, but nevertheless always got the same error message, with one exception: When I loaded all 3 builtin, it complained instead that shfolder has a problem. vglm(), t values and p values
Hi All, I'm fitting an proportional odds model using vglm() from VGAM. My response variable is the severity of diseases, going from 0 to 5 (the severity is actually an ordered factor). The independent variables are: 1 genetic marker, time of medical observation, age, sex. What I *need* is a p-value for the genetic marker. Because I have ~1.5 million markers I'd rather not faffing
