Diablo II: No music in menu
Hi,
I frequently compile wine from source.
Last weekend, diablo II worked fine. Today, after I updated wine to
latest head, it isn't playing any sound in the menu.
The debug log says:
> 10:44:38.280 ........DirectSound progress: 0 buffers available is
> less than min needed 16 buffers for 3d sound
> 10:44:38.284 ........DirectSound progress: 0 buffers available is

Loading Diablo 1 saved games?
ok i've got diablo 1 working with a no-windows install of winex, the
only prob real prob i'm having is an inability to load saved games (the
file exists but when i choose the game at the select character menu i
always get a choose new character class whether i'm clicking new
character or not... could diablo possibly need a registry entry to
detect the file correctly? and if so

more on Diablo II (wierd problem)
Ok, I do have Diablo II working, mostly. At the moment, it only works
under TWM (not fvwm which is what I normally use) and only in -win
mode.
The problem is that the first time that my mouse leaves the diablo
window, diablo iconifies. Not a major issue, I just have to make sure
that it's before I start playing. HOWEVER, after it's de-iconified,
the keyboard get's somewhat screwy. I

Screen resolution switch with DGA
This has me baffled. I run Diablo 2 under Wine, works absolutely
flawlessly in every way. I have DGA enabled, and a 800x600 desktop (also
tried the Managed and Unmanaged options). Thing is, my X desktop is
1600x1200x16bpp and of course Diablo 2 is only 800x600. Is there any way
to have this resolution automagically change to 800x600 (nothing seems
to do that here), and back when I exit it?

AW: Ogg Vorbis and DirectSound streaming
BTW: You can pass also the float32 data directly to DirectSound instead of
doing the conversion (float32->int16) yourself. Have a look at
"WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE" in the Windows Platform SDK

Problem with directsound / Gothic
I am currently trying to run Gothic 1.08j on a Debian wheezy amd64 based
machine using PlayOnLinux or just the plain wine installation. The game runs
in generel but only if sound is disabled. To get sound working, AppDB and
other tutorials advise to get the native directsound dlls and add overrides to
the wine configuration.
Whether I download the dlls and add the overrides manually or use

Skipping with vorbisfile playback using DirectSound
I'm having a problem trying to write a simple vorbis file player using
DirectSound. The decoding portion is pretty much straight from the
vorbisfile sample code. The pcm data gets put into one half of a
DirectSound buffer, and as that half is playing, the next half gets filled.
The problem is, there's skipping and some noise when the file is being
played (although some of the music is

Is it a wine bug if sound in a particular app doesn't work properly without emulated directsound
Essentially, the question is in the subject. I notice that switching
to emulated directsound acceleration rather than hardware is
identified on the winetricks wiki
(http://code.google.com/p/winetricks/wiki/TamingTroublesomeTitles) as
being a common way to fix sound issues, and of course it's a common
suggested fix on the appdb. If I need to make this change for properly
working sound (in this

Problem with configuring the sound.
Hello,
I am having problems with the set-up of my sound under wine. I am using latest

"WaveMapper" = "msacm.drv"
"MidiMapper" = "midimap.drv"

Ogg Vorbis, DirectSound and Delphi
Hi,
I've just downloaded the Ogg Vorbis source, LIB and DLL files from
www.xiph.org and I've been trying to get them working in Borland Delphi 3
Pro. Has anyone managed to get OV to decode and play an OGG file using
Delphi?
Ideally I'd like to use DirectSound (part of DirectX), via the UnDelphiX
(DelphiX with the JEDI headers) components.
Also, if I choose to sell a

Ogg Vorbis and DirectSound streaming
hi,
I downloaded the vorbis-sdk-1.0rc3 and wrote an application that plays ogg
files using DirectSound(win32 application). It uses streaming technique -
I'm implementing and passing IStream interface to the DirectX. The interface
is used by DirectX to fill his buffers during playing. DirectX is assuming
that it's readind from a wav file, so the interface decodes on-the-fly so

AND works on battle.net!!!! However, I've been trying to get this to work
under linux with no real sucsess, I'm using Codeweavers wine PR 4, (I've just
started using this instead of the wine.tar.gz cos is seems easier to remove
from a linux distro than the tar.gz version, but I suppose that's what

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game
succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes.
With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found
later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu
problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really
quick.

ultima online and wine/winex
has anyone successfully installed and played ultima online with wine?
i've installed it with some older versions of wine, but i've never gotten
it to run. now i can't even get it to install... with wine (codeweavers)
or with winex (transgaming).
in the support section on the transgaming site, several people state that
they got it to install and run, but you have to be a transgaming
