Installing Excel 97, SUCCESS!!
Hi again! Yesterday I wrote to this list complaining that I could not install Excel 97. I have now succeeded. The trick was NOT to run "install.exe", but to unpack xl97_1.cab and run the acmsetup.exe in there, like so: "wine -- acmsetup.exe /T excel97.stf" (I think that excel97.stf existed in the first cab-file as well.) The installer will ask for a few files that all can

Can not install Excel97/Word97
Hello! I am new to this list (although I have done a fair amount of research in the archives) and I need to ask what is probably one of the most frequently asked questions on a list like this: How do I install Word97 and Excel97? (Codeweavers CrossoverOffice can do this, and they ASSURE us that they roll everything they do back to the main wine CVS and hence, this SHOULD work!) So far; this is

Can't make "Running MS Office 97 under Linux with Wine" work
Following the Office 97 installation instruction given in http://www.wine-reviews.net/microsoft/running-ms-office-97-under-linux-with-wine.html failed to work for me. I get to the point where it says to install DCOM98. The terminal listing shows many errors: ralph at ralph-laptop:~/Download_folder$ wine dcom98.exe err:service:RPC_Init RpcServerUseProtseq failed with error 1703

random reboots (nvidia G86M Quadro NVS 140M)
Hi Do you have an idea why am I getting random reboots and (sometimes) this stacktrace? : http://people.eisenbits.com/~stf/load/20151222-kernel-stack-trace.png This should probably go as a bug report, but I have already uninstalled the driver --- sorry. This is a fresh install of Debian 8.3 (latest stable) (Jessie). After switching to VESA everything is stable --- the only problem is that this

Help in Overlaying of 2 Plots on the same Device.
I'm trying to overlay a density plot on a previously plotted histogram. However, i need to use the same axis as of the 1st(histogram) plot to plot the second. My second plot is creating its own axis and causing my plot to extend the entire histogram instead of getting a subplot on a portion of the histogram. I tried 'fig' and 'new' parameters with no luck. Thanks in advance.

comparing a vactor of values in IF statement.
Hi, my vector V<- c(1,0.5,0.06,0.056,0.01,0.04,0.4,0.9,0.82,0.1) if( V > 0.5) { V <- 1 - V } I get a warning saying only the first element will be used in comparing (if V > 0.5). However, my results tell me vis-versa ,it actually compares every element of the vector V with 0.5 and that is waht i want it to do. Using a for loop is expensive and time consuming since my actual

[LLVMdev] [ LLI / MCJIT] re-initializing of lli ...
Hi Armin, Argument parsing isn't handled by the JIT. This sounds like you're making redundant calls to cl::ParseCommandLineOptions ? Deleting the ExecutionEngine and any RTDyldMemoryManager instances that you've created should be enough to reset the JIT. Cheers, Lang. Excel 'save as HTML' problem with Samba 2.0
Hello, Eversince I upgraded Samba to 2.0 version I've gotten so many calls from the users regarding Excel 'save as HTML' problem. What seems to be happening is that the users cannot save their Excel spreadsheet as html file when they were able to with the previous Samba version we had installed (Samba 1.9.18p10). According to MS 'knowledge database', this is a known MS Excel

performance observation on redhat
Hi, I made an interesting observation using webservers (not just mongrel) under red hat enterprise linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 5). Maybe this is helpful or somebody with deeper networking expertise can comment on this. Once client said that 1-2% of the response of our server were unacceptably slow (really huge 3s-21s). So I did more ab and httperf tests and notice that very few
