Groupwise errors
I'm trying to run the 32bit version of Groupwise. So far I can install it
without any major hickups but when I actually start to run the Grpwise.exe
it will prompt me to login to the groupwise mail server but bombs out with
a debug xterm. It appears to be able to connect to the groupwise server ok
for verifying the password. If I put in a bogus one it will tell me I have
used the wrong

ocfs2 cluster becomes unresponsive
We are running OCFS2 on SLES9 machines using a FC SAN. Without warning both nodes will become unresponsive. Can not access either machine via ssh or terminal (hangs after typing in username). However the machine still responds to pings. This continues until one node is rebooted, at which time the second node resumes normal operations.
I am not entirely sure that this is an OCFS2 problem at all

Proxy Access (Manager/Secretary) Best Practices?
I've mostly got our dovecot+postfix+SOGo+openldap open source groupware replacement working the way I want it to; we're replacing GroupWise in our organization and I'm thrilled to be doing it. I'm supporting about 1,000 active staff users (and another 6,000 student accounts).
I've got e-mail and calendar sharing working, and it does what it says it will do, but it is (go

Offsite server replication solution via Internet
Hi
Some of our smaller Central London clients (5 to 25 terminals), who use the NetWare & GroupWise software from Novell Small Business Suite 6, are becoming increasingly concerned about the possibility of their offices becoming inaccessible for a prolonged period in the event of a terrorist attack.
We've been asked to provide a low cost solution consisting of replicated offsite servers to

PAM and getpwnam [ struct passwd *getpwnam(const char * name) ]
Hello!
I use a PAM-module (pam_ncp_auth from ncpfs) for authentication against a
netware server.
pam_ncp_auth can create local UNIX user accounts from information in NDS,
and it works perfect with login, gdm and telnet. But not with openssh (2.5
and 2.9).
It works perfect if the user already is in /etc/passwd, but the first time
he logs on he doesn't exist there. In that case openssh call

Mounting Netware Volumes
I have one last RH 7.3 system that I want to convert to CentOS 4, but I
can''t find the ncpfs utilities that I used to use to mount Netware
shares.
Has support been removed from the 3.x and 4?

NCP, nprint and ncpfs
Hi everyone,
I tried to use yum to search for ncpfs-2.2.1-1.i386.rpm, but it couldn't
find it. I googled and found this package is included with redhat, but i'm
not sure if it's included with CentOS 4.2. Any idea where I can find and
install it using yum?
Thanks

Passing additional paramaters to nlsList(nlme) fit function
Hello, nls-users,
is it possible to pass additional parameters to the model function that are
known and groupwise constant with nlsList? I could not find something like a
"keep this fixed" option in the documentation and the code (my fault...?)
The current workaround is to break the problem down into groups and use
globals to pass the constant parameters, but it is ugly code and

Non-registry problem: Slow printing
Greetings,
I have a client running samba-3.0.24 with mostly Windows-XP clients.
They can print to some printers (those with drivers provided by Microsoft)
without problem.
They can also print to printers with vendor supplied printer drivers
but they end up waiting up to 30 seconds just to select the printer.
There is a similar wait when adding the printer to the list of printers
the XP client

imap proxy setup - "killed with signal 11"
hi-
i'm setting up an imap proxy in front of a novell groupwise server. it
seems to so far be partially working, but dovecot is having trouble in
certain cases. i expect that it's ultimately due to what i believe is a
very poor implementation of imap provided by groupwise [at least based
on other experiences in the past] - but that's a big part of why i'd
like to have

Re: Linux EXT3 support? problems flushing?
Paul,
I don't know if this helps but I'm running RH7.2 on ext3 with Samba 2.2.1a &
Quotas, I haven't heard any users complain yet, (300 total users). I don't
believe any of them are using Outlook though, but they are using the Samba for
their Groupwise MailArchive. Hope this helps...

Significant performance problems
Hi all,
I'm sure my issues are a result of misconfiguration, but I'm hoping
someone can point me in the right direction. I'm getting pressure to
move us back to GroupWise, which I desperately want to avoid :-/
We're running dovecot 1.2.9 on Ubuntu 10.4 LTS+postfix. The server is a
VM with 1 vCPU and 4GB of RAM. We serve about 10,000 users with anywhere
from 500-1000 logged in

ggplot2: deterministic position_jitter & geom_line with position_jitter
Dear guRus,
I am starting to work with the ggplot2 package and have two very dumb
questions:
1) deterministic position_jitter - the jittering is stochastic; is there
any way to get a deterministic jittering? For instance:
example.data <-
data.frame(group=c("foo","bar","foo","bar","foo","bar"),x=c(1,1,2,2,3,3),y=c(1,1,0,2,1,1))

Getting Groupwise to run setup.exe
Hello I'm having trouble trying to run setup.exe from either the 32bit or
16bit versions of Groupwise. I copied the win32 version of ncftp.exe and
was able to get it to load up ok. I didn't have sol.exe to play with.
Here's the details.

killing "uninterruptible sleep" process
Hi
I logged in to one of my servers today and noticed that the load average is
very high. After investigating the problem I found two processes in "D" stat
("uninterruptible sleep"):

Re: Different printer drivers ...
Greetings,
I've now received private e-mail saying that others have seen this problem,
sent e-mail to this list and received no answers. That ultimately, they
ended up altering their Windows clients to use LPR instead of Samba.
Is this really something that a genuine MS Windows server can handle and
Samba cannot?
Does anybody know when these other drivers stopped working well and what

Xen and I/O Intensive Loads
Hi, folks,
I''m attempting to run an e-mail server on Xen. The e-mail system is Novell GroupWise, and it serves about 250 users. The disk volume for the e-mail is on my SAN, and I''ve attached the FC LUN to my Xen host, then used the "phy:/dev..." method to forward the disk through to the domU. I''m running into an issue with high I/O wait on the box (~250%)
