Hello. I'm trying to run Diablo 2 under wine. The game installs fine (D2 + LoD + Patch 1.11b), but I experience some serious performances issues. Wine is set to Windows XP mode (otherwise, the game protection doesn't work). The game is very sluggish when the minimap is open, when setting the key binding, or on battle.net menus. The only choice I got from D2VidTst.exe is DirectDraw HAL.

i have installed ddo on my ubuntu it works fine when starting it up and for the 1st 5 or ten minutes then it freezes my computer anyone have a fix for this?

Hi, I had exactly the same problem and managed to solve it. The solution that worked for me was very simple : in the "audio" tab of wine config dialog, I changed direct sound acceleration from "complete" to "emulation" and... Miracle ! IT WORKED !!! :D Hope that'll work for you too.

I don't know what video card you have, but you may want to try running Diablo II in Glide mode, using the Glide-to-OpenGL wrapper: http://www.svenswrapper.de/english/index.html Place the contents of the wrapper into the Diablo II folder.
