similar to: coding for windows using wine

I need to write a win32 program. However, my workstation is a Linux box. I was goingto create a cross compiler and compile my code and run it on wine... However, I heard about winelib, and allegedly I can just use winelib and compile on my linux box using good ol' gcc and it will just work. Is this true? If so how would I set that up? Where can I find the docs?

how does one view windows help files ( winhlp format ) using wine?

I have installed a CAD/CAM program call eCabinets (its a free program for woodworking and cabinet shops). When it starts, its asks for its registration code which I have. It then tries to open the default internet connections to register but eventually times out. By the looks of things, it its acting like a firewall is blocking it.
