wine1.2rc-x changes brightnes in flash fullscreen (nvidia)
Hey, I've noticed some strange behaviour in the latest wine versions 1.2rc-x. At 1.2rc-1-3 when I installed games like Guild Wars or Runes of Magic the first start in fullscreen turned the birghtness level of my laptop to 100%. (having a Sony VGN-NR21S with an Nvidia 8400M-GT). I'm setting the brightness level with smartdimmer (nvclock package). When I enter "smartdimmer -s

How can I run an already installed Flash MX 2004 (on an /NTFS partition)?
First I tried wine from the Debian unstable repository. It didn't work for installing Flash MX 2004. Then I was given advice and I tried the latest version so grabbed and installed the .deb package from the winehq repository (Wine 20050111) Yes, I also tried to install DCOM98.EXE by following the instructions from http://navi.cx/svn/misc/trunk/winekb/NativeDCOM.xml but it also had some

Flash MX doesn't load
Hey all, I recently installed Ubuntu and then Wine so I can still run a few apps I can't avoid (like Flash). I installed Flash by double clicking on the install icon within X Windows after installing Wine. Then, upon typing "wine Flash.exe" I was getting an error about a missing .dll file. I added this to system32 and now the error does not come up. However... Flash doesn't

Flash, Shockwave, 3dVia plugins
Firstly, I apologise for the blatant help me nature of this question but time is really against me and I wondered if any experienced Linux/Wine users would be able to give me some basic pointers from their own experiences. I have built 2 very budget PCs for my kids (8+5) running Ubuntu 10.04 x32. Both have good Nvidia graphics and can play HD video. In fact everything is tip top apart from Web

New winetricks 20110629: updated flash, firefox. New verbs firefox35, firefox36, sims3_gen
Another day, another winetricks release. (Release early, release often!) Adobe went and updated flash (today?), so I've updated winetricks to match. (It's really time to make winetricks not need an update every time flash is updated...) I also added a firefox35 verb because it's the last major release that worked with flash in wine. To install firefox with flash and shockwave, do

Flash MX and Wine ver. 20040813
Hi I have followed the instructions at Frank's place to install Macromedia Flash MX. I managed to run the installer, but when I start the app, it paints half the window, then freezes, and I get this: bash-2.05b$ wine Flash.exe fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no classfactory created for CLSID {275c23e2-3747-11d0-9fea-00aa003f8646}, hres is 0x80040154 fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no classfactory

Installing Flash MX 2004: dcom98 is ok but can't getInstallShield to continue
OK, following advice for a clean start I've completely deleted my ~/.wine directory then installed http://wine.sourceforge.net binary/ wine 0.0.20050111-1 [13.9MB] from the winehq repository using apt-get wine. Macromedia Flash MX 2004
Greetings! There are no flash editors for linux. I mean at all! That's horrible. But I think that's the reason for using a combination of Subj+wine. And I think there should be some FAQ or other type of help on this topic. Could anybody point to such a help source for me? Or maybe you could help me to resolve the source of such an error: fixme:ntdll:NtQueryInformationProcess

BIOS Flash?
I know, I probably gave a lot of people heart attacks just from that title. I'm not saying that I would actually try flashing my BIOS with WINE, I was just wondering, purely out of theoretical curiosity, if it's even possible to flash the BIOS by initiating an "exe" BIOS flasher from within WINE. I would suspect not, given that WINE "can't even" run Windows

Installing Flash MX - stdole32.tlb problem?
Hi all, I've noticed that at least in the last two Wine releases, Flash MX (not Flash MX 2004) won't install or run: * If I do a clean install of Wine, and try to run the installer, it eventually hangs, and I get an error that states "The Installshield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. (0x8000405)" * If I drop an stdole32.tlb file into my fake windows/ system folder,
