Hi all, I recently compiled and installed a new version of wine (20010824). Everything works fine, but alot of command line options are missing. The options I get with wine --help are: --debugmsg name, --dll name, --dosver x.xx, --help,-h, --managed, --version,-v, --winver. I miss commandline options like: --desktop and --display. Reading more on wine, is seems that is should be able to access mapi32 okay correct?(ie Outlook) Also, one of my hardware items defines it own USB stack and such. Am I SOL for running this hardware under WINE? Damon

hey all, when i try to run hl.exe with the wine emulator. I get an error saying that i'm not running in 16-bit color mode. i have set up my Xfree4.1.0 to only run at 16-bit color. I still get the error. is there a place where i can set this in the wine emulator. i have looked for the wine.conf files. they are no where to be found. i installed wine from a rpm off of winehq.com. I'm running Mandrake 8.1 (Cooker). I get the subject error when I try to start wine. I've tried the latest wine version (20010629) and the next to latest version. Same result. I've tried rebuilding wine on my machine. That's successful but error remains Anyone know what this is and how to make it go away?

Many useful Netscape plugins don't come in Linux versions. Is it possible to make my Linux copy of Netscape use Windows-compiled plugins? If so, how?

Hi, I don't really know if it is the reason but when i tried tu run my explorer.exe with wine (without success) It removed all i had in 'Program Files' directory and added a folder 'Uninstall Information ...'. Does anyone know about it ... anyway it would be a warning. -- Omar

running redhat 7.1 with wine 20010313 it seems to work okay but it just refuses to make folders. Im trying to install counter-strike but when i set the install directory and the program asks if i want to create it i click ok but nothing happens. if i make the directory myself everything goes fine, the files are copied and everything. all the permissions seem to be set correctly.. any help?

When I run half-life under Codeweavers Wine, it says it cannot validate the cd. I tried cracking it under windows 4 times with different cracks, and they work under windows, but in wine it says my executable has been edited. When I had just plain wine that came iwth mydistro (suse 7.2), it worked fine. I have no idea what to do and what is causing this. Thanks! Matt

Hi, I'm trying to install the game "Aquanox" under Wine which needs DirectX 8.0. I've found a mail in the wine mailing list archive stating that wine already includes DirectX, but Aquanox keeps complaining about a missing d3d8.dll. I keep hearing that Ian Schmidt figured out how to get Word 2000 to work under Wine. Well, his domain comes up unknown and all references I have seen on this subject hyperlink to his defunct URL. Has anyone out there got Word 2000 installed on W2K to work under wine? I'm using FreeBSD Codeweaver port but any success from anyone be it Red Hat, Mandrake, etc would be appreciated.
