Sharing Dos/Windows drives from a Linux system
How can I do this?
I have a samba server running on RedHat Linux. The server is actually a
dual boot machine, and has Windows drives which I have mounted under
Linux, so that /mnt/dosC is the C: drive when booted under DOS. Also,
this machine has a Zip drive connected to it and known as /mnt/zip.

journal aborting and remounting /boot as ro
Hi,
Apologies in advance for any breaches of netiquette, I couldn't find any guidelines
about submission to this forum but I'd be grateful for your help on something.
My /boot filesystem is being remounted shortly after start-up as read-only.
I get the following messages...
journal_bmap_Ra7a5f568: journal block not found at offset 12 on ide0(3,1)

cut and paste problem
Dear all,
I am new to wine and try to use it to replace vmware for
word/powerpoint applications. The first problem that I encounter is
that I am unable to cut and paste under all the applications
(notepad/word/powerpoint).
It seems that the issue is related to the clipboard behavior because
when I cut (under notepad) I get an error message stating: "Empty clipboard".
Which is kind of

Aha. After running opt I now have inlined (and much better) code.
Previously I'd been using llc -O3 to do the optimisation.
What's the different between opt -O3 and llc -O3, then?

Hi
I want to run a Samba PDC with LDAP backend on a FreeBSD 6.2 for Sparc64.
And off course, if I send this mail, it is not working ! :-(
I have this error message when using smbclient on the PDC itself.
The command line is: smbclient -L janus -Uadministrator%toto
The result is: session setup failed: Call returned zero bytes (EOF)

XP can browse samba by IP, but not by name - NMB issues?
I have an XP home (falcon) and an XP pro (tatooine) machine, both
behind a rh9 box (hoth) acting as firewall. I've been trying to get
samba set up on the linux box. I think I have it mostly working except
that the XP boxes won't list hoth under "My Network Places - Microsoft
Windows Network - MSHOME",
and I cannot access hoth by name at all from the XP-pro box (by IP, I

Problem with Mclust
Dear All,
I fear I am badly misunderstanding something fundamental about the
mclust package.
Please considered the dataset pasted at the end of the email (you can
also have a look at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5685598/dataedges.csv
).
Now, I would like to use the info on columns 1,2 and 4 to predict the
value in column 3.
However, when I run the script below (obg_mining_script.R), I get

model-based question-better readable version
It is going to be easy question to you. I've started to interest in model-based clustering.
Adrian E. Raftery "Recent Advances in Model-Based Clustering: Image Segmentation and Variable Selection" (www.stat.washington.edu/Raftery)showed that we can compare different classification methods using BIC
statistic. For diabetes dataset the best model is VVV model with 3 classes- for this

[LLVMdev] Update information about Jade project
Hi everybody,
We work for a few week to update our project Jade (Just-In-Time Adaptive
Decoder Engine) already referenced on "LLVM Projects" page
(http://llvm.org/ProjectsWithLLVM/#jade). After some updates, we are
able to compile Jade with the upcoming LLVM version.
I want to ask you if it is possible to update the first link for the
Jade project on ProjectsWithLLVM page, since it

wine.conf
Here is another stupid question, sure to make myself unpopular...
Almost all the available documentation, including the manual pages and
the README file which comes with 20010418, and at least two help files
referenced off the winehq web site, says that wine reads a configuration
file from /etc/wine.conf [or /usr/local/etc/wine.conf]. The src.rpm
from which I installed 20010418 even installs a

Any success with wine 20010418 and MS Office Viewers?
Microsoft has free viewers for MS Word and Excel file formats.
Has anyone had any success with these and Wine 20010418?
I had some success (could install at least) with the Win16
word viewer, but now I couldn't even install any of them.
Wine just locks up.
If anyone wants to try it out, I have the 16- and 32-bit
version of the Word viewer + the 32-bit Excel viewer here:
