winehq's wine vs Corel wine
Some times I read people claimming that
some applications run well (or installs well)
with Corel's wine but not with winehq's wine.
As Corel is dead for almost a year (IIRC), is there
something in Corel's wine that it is not on the official wine?
If it is, what is it?
why isn't it in winehq's wine? license? design?
Or the people who make this kind of claim are

Hello
As my subject already says, I want to print under wine.
Added printer=on to the conf-file, but it doesn't help.

try to print there is no printer availeble.
I tryed to find some good howto's about printing but didn't find any.
Why can't I sucseed and does corel-photopaint a perfect print-job?

Updating WordPerfect Office
The version of Wine that ships with WPOffice 9 is
getting pretty creaky. As far as I can tell, Corel
doesn't have any updates on their site, but as far as
I know there's no reason that someone couldn't update
their version.
Anyone have any luck with this? I'm still trying to
reproduce their build parameters.

Once again Debian has no updates. Is there any reason for this to happen?

Quickbooks Pro works on Corel Wine
Quickbooks Pro works Purrrrrfectly on Corel Wine. It looks good, works
good and prints good. The only caveat is that when it is running, you
cannot launch Wordperfect as well - it is an either or situation.
Cheers,
Herman

Corel heritage applications
I understand that the applications that Corel release for Linux are WinXX
apps tweaked to run under Wine. I have no problem with that, but it makes
me wonder what success has been achieved running Corel Win apps. Sure beats
upgrading if they still do the job you want.
The applications that interest me are:
WordPerfect version 7.0.2.19
Quatro Pro version 7.0.2.14
Corel Ventura

API implementation "HOWTO"
Maybe my imagination is overactive, but I seem to remember reading some-
thing in the vein of a HOWTO/tutorial on adding a Win32 API call to
Wine. It discussed the SPEC file, header files, etc.
I've searched the winehq website and the source tree, but I can't seem
to find this. Anyone know what I'm thinking of?
Thanks!

Printing in Corel Draw through CUPS
10/10/2007
After consulting with some local Linux consultants, we have concluded
that Corel Draw does not print under WINE because it detects the printer
as Postscript, converts the file to Postscript, and sends the file to
CUPS, which then converts the file to Postscript, again, and sends it to
the printer which prints garbage.
The consultant found a way to make a couple changes to WINE

Corel Draw 4 can't find fonts
I now have almost all my Windows programs running fine under codeweavers
wine 20010112-1 except Corel Draw 4 (16-bit), which seems to work fine
except it cannot find any fonts except the symbol typeface it ships with.
I have tried starting it from .../windows/fonts and from its home
directory but nothing changes its behavior.
Must I install TT fonts on my Linux system for Corel Draw to find them

GUI client?
It's very nice to see that NUT now supports my Belkin Universal UPS.
Great work!
Now I'm wondering if there's a GUI client that will build/run on a
modern distribution. KNutClient requires an outdated version of Qt,
and the "UPS Monitor" link leads to a Spanish error page.
Thanks!

[Fwd: Re: Dead keyboard]
Later...
Well, I found that when wine installed Windows, it did not install the
"standard" fonts, like Ariel or Times. So when I copied them to the wine
version of Windows, the "hunt for fonts" was reduced to two... and I
know which they are, so eventually... Anyway, that problem cleared up.
But one more thing. I now start the program from the terminal with two
