Printing via smbclient to Windows BJC-2100 printer
I've seen variations on this problem in the past but they haven't seemed
to help much in this instance. I have Samba running on a
NetBSD(sparc) and would like to set it up to print to a Canon BJC-2100
running on a networked Windows ME machine. (My sparc box lacks a
'standard' parallel interface and I lack an adapter). I can print just
fine to the printer from a second Windows

BJC-2100 printer not printing correctly
First, thanks for the great work done on Centos 4.1. Recently installed
on two systems that previously were running Windows 98 and Windows ME.
(The user of the Windows ME system has no problems so far.)
I was very surprised when Centos 4.1 recognized and automatically
configured the BJC-2100 printer connected to the USB port during
install.
The only problem encountered so far is poor

Printing NT to Linux w\Cannon bjc-4000
I am able to see my printer as a share. Well better put, I see four
representations of my printer: ascii, lp2, lp-mono, and raw. I tried
the naive thing and just selected lp2 and added the cannon bjc 4000
driver for NT. This didn't work. I get an error report:
%%[ Error: undefined; offending Command: K ]%% . . . a bunch of strings
that I don't understand. This does not look like the

samba, ncurses, and sysV printing?
Dear SAMBA Group,
I've playing around with getting SAMBA to do things for me.
I have an Ultra-1 running Solaris 2.6 and a Win-XP system with
a Canon BJC-2000 printer attached to it.
I'm trying to get the SUN to print to the printer on the XP box.
I have followed various instructions but now when I print as "root"
with "lp -d bjc <file>" I get an email message

Samba 3.0b3+CUPS+server drivers
I'm trying to setup a printer using Cups, using cupsaddsmb
It uploads the files ok (smbclient ... -c 'mkdir W32X86;put ...;put ...')
It adds the driver ok (rpcclient -c 'adddriver "Windows NT X86"
"Canon:file1:file2..."
(I have verified this worked from server properties in "printers and faxes"
of the linux server: the driver "canon" shows

network printing
Hello,
Hello,
I am running Samba version 2.2.8a, cups 1.1.19 and esp print pro version
4.3.1 on my server, which is running Slackware 9.1 and Canon BJC-85 USB
printer as default printer on the server and kernel 2.4.22
I can connect and print to the server using smbclient, but I cannot
figure out what to put in the CUPS configuration, or the
/etc/samba/smb.conf to print to this printer all

CentOS 6, CUPS and Canon printers problem
I was trying to get a new Canon laser printer LBP-7110CW to work with
a CentOS 6 machine. It already has an older Canon multi-function laser
MF-4720W which worked fine. Both printers are connected via wireless.
The new printer works fine from a Windows machine. The web-based GUI
can be accessed from the C6 machine without problem either. However,
CUPS cannot "discover" the printer when

Fwd: Response from Canon - MultiPASS (KMM7153196V60774L0KM)
My apologies for this because it is, technically, OT, but it is a classic
example of what rotten support Linux (and CentOS) get in the US from
equipment manufacturers. The whole email is a lie because they DO have the
drivers on their asia site, they just don't want us 'Murkins to get our
hands on them. Or maybe it's part of some clever little nuance of their
agreement with Micro$oft

Centos 7 - Canon Powershot A410
I have an old Canon Powershot A410 camera that used to just work with
Centos 6. All I had to do was install Shotwell and forever after I
could just plug that camera in and Shotwell would automatically load and
all was well.
I'm now trying to get that camera to work on Centos 7, but am having no
success.

Printing via Samba
I'm trying to print to a shared printer on my Windows 98 SE box from my linux
box. I've configured it via Webmin and I can mount my home directory on linux
from Windows (using samba) and vice versa... But I can't seem to configure
printing properly... I've got a Canon BJC-1000 on my Windows box and Webmin
seems to think it SHOULD be printable.... *sigh* I've tried all three

weird printing with samba 2.2.4 problems under FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE
Hello.
I have a simple samba 2.2.4 setup here under FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE: I want to
share my printer through samba to other windows clients on my LAN. I already
have this working perfectly under Linux on the same machine, however the
freebsd port or package seem to not work.
- the printer is correctly set up with LPRng (lpr <file> prints file
correctly). However when I connect to the

spandsp and certain (e.g. Canon) fax machines
Hi,
Several people have reported problems sending faxes from spandsp-0.0.1k
to Canon FAX machines. A spandsp user had the same problem with another
make of FAX machine, and traced the problem to a bug in the file t30.c
of spandsp. Line 542 says s->t4.rx_file[0] where it should say
s->t4.tx_file[0]. This fixes his problem, and I suspect it will also fix
the Canon fax machine problem.

Canon Printer Woe
Hi,
Has anyone had any success using a Canon LBP5300 with CentOS or any other RH
type os for that matter, using the rpms and intructions downloaded from the
Canon website? I have it working on XP and OS X both via USB and network but
am having no success with either on CentOS 5.4 . Print jobs seem to be
processed correctly by CUPS but the printer doesn't respond at all and the
jobs show

Canon Pixma MP250 Printer
I have a Canon Pixma MP250 Printer. Tried the Linux drivers and still can't get an ink reading on it. I have tried every single program I can find, from InkBlot to the Canon software that comes with the Linux drivers and none of them will read this silly printer.
I didn't have a problem with it under Windows, but am having serious issues with the "genuine" stuff in it so was

Canon EOS Utilities install problem with Wine
I've studied all the texts I can find.
Wine lists Canon EOS Utilities as compatible.
I have installed Wine (1.1.44 with 1.2 packet) and it works with Notepad. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10.
However, I can't get it to work with Canon EOS Utilities.
I tried to follow instructions but to install latest edition of EOS I need to first install the initial CD.
The initial CD files won't

I did alot of searching before I came to post here, but have failed to
come up with a reason why this isn't working. I may just be missing a

Centos 5.5 and Canon PIXMA 7600 multifunction printer/scanner/fax
Hello listmates,
xsane on Ubuntu 10 finds that Canon PIXMA via the web and seems to be able
to make use of it without a glitch. However, Centos machines sitting on the
same net fail to find it. Does anybody know why?
Thanks.
Boris.
