Help with VMware ESXi manager for CentOS - newbie level
Hi. On my new job we use VMware ESXi (Free version), but my colleagues use Windows on their PC's. I am allowed to use CentOS Linux, but I have no prior experience with WMVare. I now (today) have to install CentOS 6.x minimal on that ESXi server, so I am trying to wrap my head around whole ecosystem. What should I install on my CentOS 6.x so I can access/manage ESXi server and manage

[LLVMdev] MAJOR API CHANGE: LLVMContext
Notice of a major upcoming API change: The static methods for constructing types and constants will be going away in the future. Instead, the global uniquing tables that lurk behind these APIs will be privatized within LLVMContext instances. What this means for you: Your client application will need to create an LLVMContext in main(), and pass it into a few APIs (the constructor for

OT: P(Z <= -1.46).
In checking over the solutions to some homework that I had assigned I observed the fact that in R (version 2.4.0) pnorm(-1.46) gives 0.07214504. The tables in the text book that I am using for the course give the probability as 0.0722. Fascinated, I scanned through 5 or 6 other text books (amongst the dozens of freebies from publishers that lurk on my shelf) and found that some agree with R

enabling reproducible research & R package management & install.package.version & BiocLite
Hi, In support of reproducible research at my Institute, I seek an approach to re-creating the R environments in which an analysis has been conducted. By which I mean, the exact version of R and the exact version of all packages used in a particular R session. I am seeking comments/criticism of this as a goal, and of the following outline of an approach: === When all the steps to an workflow

Hi Everyone, Just trying my luck here but are there others in the list lurking that down under in Sydney? I'm happy to make something happen if there's at least *one* other person in Sydney. :) Cheers -- Dean

To DB or not to DB?
I lurk and comment a little on here and have been playing with * for a short while. I am interested in hearing about the pros and cons for using a database backend to Asterisk. My current setup is simple, out of the box with config files in /etc/asterisk and logs etc going into /var. I notice a great many of the contributors here seem to use a db backend (is this also called Real Time

latest on printing
Is there anyone on this list that can give an overview of what is happening with the printer driver in WINE ? As of version 9.24 I had functional printing with CUPS but in 9.25 and 9.26 I don't. I'm just wondering if I am not aware of some new steps that I need to do with each new release/compile cycle here. I'm using 2.6.18 kernel and compiling from source.

Stream metadata settings
Actually, Sorry guys, I just want to say the below paragraph is misrepresenting. You can stream music without "paying the piper" without being in copyright hell. And as a long time icecast user/admin/client/server/whatever, that below paragraph just makes me really sad to see on this list. ...I'll lurk now. --Stauf > When people run icecast without registering their server and

[LLVMdev] MAJOR API CHANGE: LLVMContext
To ease this transition, I have added a getGlobalContext() API. If you're only ever planning to use LLVM on a single thread, it will be completely safe to simply pass this value to every API that takes an LLVMContext. --Owen On Jun 30, 2009, at 3:38 PM, Owen Anderson wrote: > Notice of a major upcoming API change: The static methods for > constructing types and constants will

Dovecot login hangs often
Hi - We have dovecot version : 0.99.11 release : 2.EL4.1 on Centos 4.2, with an LDAP backend (Samba PDC) and pam set to authenticate against LDAP. Dovecot is set to use pam for authentication. It uses mbox, and the machine has very little load (95% idle, no memory pressure). Every 36 hours or so, no users are able to login to imap (we have only imap enabled). Other services that use the same

Reminder: This list is freebsd-security@FreeBSD.org, not security@FreeBSD.org
Hello Just a little reminder that the FreeBSD Security list only has the address freebsd-security@FreeBSD.org, and not security@FreeBSD.org. The address security@FreeBSD.org is for the FreeBSD Security Team. If anyone is interested in the reason for this, see this thread from last year: http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?20040407154220.GA5651 . -- Simon L. Nielsen FreeBSD Security Team
