Need Help installing apps with wine
I've got wine installed on Mandrake 7.2 and I have my config file setup, but when I run the install for a win32 app the install begins and then I get an error that tells me I need the Windows Installer or that if I'm running Windows NT I need SP4 or better. Is there something more I need to install or configure to get the installs to complete? Thanks, Jody jthigpen@jtnewmedia.com

Self-heal's behavior: problem on "replace" -- it leaves garbage.
Hi. I'm using GlusterFS v1.3.12 (glusterfs-1.3.12.tar.gz) via FUSE (fuse-2.7.3glfs10.tar.gz) on CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (Linux kernel 2.6.18-92.el5) now. The nodes are HP Proliant DL360 G5 (as GlusterFS Client) and DL180 G5 (as GlusterFS Servers). And the connections are all TCP/IP on Gigabit ethernet. Then, I tested self-heal and I found a technical problem about "replace" -- self-heal

infinite recursion problem
hello r-users, sorry for asking a long question that may not be very relevant for the list but it's upsetting me and I get no other solution... I get a function HTMLExport.lm that uses another function called HTMLExport.list. My problem is that function HTMLExport.list works fine when used alone but HTMLExport.lm crashes with the following error : > HTMLExport(iris.lm) lm(formula =

Sieve fileinto a subfolder fails -- more info, possible workaround
After looking at the way Maildir represents subfolders, I changed the sieve line from fileinto "Lists/NCCC"; to fileinto "Lists.NCCC"; and now it files into the NCCC subfolder of Lists as I wanted. I'm not sure whether this is the expected behavior or just an accident that plugging that string into the file name happens to result in the right name. I

Sieve fileinto a subfolder fails
I'm using Dovecot 1.0.10 on Ubuntu 8.04, using the packages from the distro; exim4 is my MTA and it's configured according to the instructions in the wiki, everything is working fine for delivery into the Maildir INBOX via Dovecot's LDA and reading mail via IMAP using Thunderbird. My habit on previous mail systems was to create a Lists folder and subfolders under Lists for each

centering axis labels in lattice
Hello, I'm attempting to alter the location of text in my axis labels in lattice plots and have been unsuccessful so far. For example, the y-axis labels are always right-justified, but I would like them to be horizontally centered. Here's an example: library(lattice); # create fake dataset to plot to.plot <- data.frame( x = 1:5, y = c("1\nAAA", "2\nBBB",

pearson's correlation
Hello, I used the function cor to calculate the pearson correlation coefficient between variables. However, the resulting values do not correspond to the outcome of my excel-calculations, for which I used the formula Cor(x,y)=Cov(x,y)/(SD(x)*SD(y)) So my question is: How does the function "cor" compute the pearson correlation coefficient? Thank you in advance, Ake Nauta

openssh-1.2pre15 on AIX
Hi. Pre15 compiles out-of-the-box on AIX 4.3.2 ...almost. No patch included this time, but the following were the gotchas: - The __P() prototyping doesn't work (as discussed earlier) - bsd-daemon.o wasn't linked into libssh.a (though configure seemed to detect the need for it) DCE patch will follow shortly.
