Understanding controllers
You''ll have to forgive me ... I''ve been toying with rails for about a week
and although I don''t feel completely lost there''s still a lot that I don''t
understand. Here goes.
Assume I have a controller called admin in app/controllers as well as three
model classes in app/models: product, category, warehouse. How exactly do I
use the admin controller to

directrtpsetup without reinvite
Hi,
I want to be able to bridge two sip channels using direct RTP
between my endpoints (Audio IP : not local) but without
using reinvites. So I set up my asterisk sip endpoints as follows:
[test1]
type=friend
host=dynamic
username=test1
dtmfmode=info
context=test_rtp
allow=all
canreinvite=no
directrtpsetup=yes
[test2]
type=friend
host=dynamic
username=test2
dtmfmode=info
context=test_rtp

distro recommedation
Hi guys,
what distribution do you recommend, if you want to run producive systems
on it. i got a cluster with two sles10sp2 nodes - but i''m not that
satisfied. The migration of my windows-systems are not working in an
acceptable way and the pv-drivers for win of suse are not a speed boost
at all. Well I could spend big money for Xen Enterprise or VirtualIron
- but - do I really have to

slow R start up
Hi,
I want to use R within a unix shell script where I repeatedly open
and close R (doing some computation within R whilst it is open). i.e.
something like
#!/bin/sh
R --vanilla << EOF
# some R commands
EOF
# some unix commands
R --vanilla << EOF
# some R commands
EOF
# some unix commands
...etc
the problem is that since I open and close R many times, the shell
script takes a long

Any indispensable passes?
Hi everyone,
I am currently testing out a combination of IR->IR passes with opt to
benchmark how they affect performance. The source code works fine if simply
use the clang (-O0/-O3) to directly compile to object files and link them.
However, when I use opt with a select set of passes and then use llc to
compile them to binary, the compiled binary is wrong.
That makes me wonder if there are

Centos 4.0 (Final) and Dell 1950 with SAS controller
Hi All,
I have an "appliance" cd which uses CentOS 4.0 (Final) which I am trying to load on a new Dell 1950 server with a SAS driver controller. During the install it fails to find any disks to load to. I got the drivers from Dell and dd the correct one to a floppy, boot from the appliance cd and enter linux dd at the prompt. I load the driver in the install and it still fails to find

ZtDummy vs Hardware
I was wondering what could be pros and cons of ztdummy vs proper timer
device (i.e. X100P).
I am going to set up an asterisk server in europe (to do trunking, to
save bandwith) and I was wondering if it'll be OK to get it going with
ztdummy.
Furthermore, I have only a 1024/256kbps PPPOE DSL link and I need to
squeeze 12 channels through, I was wondering which codec would be
suitable

User Authentication
I''m trying to create a simple authentication system but am failing
miserably. I''m (sort of) following the "Logging In" chapter of the Agile
book. Ideally, any access to http://example.com/publish (and any of its
subdirectories) should redirect to http:/example.com/publish/login when
there is no valid session user_id.

gap.barplot doesn't support data arrays?
I am trying to make a barplot with a broken axis using gap.barplot (in the
indispensable plotrix package). This works well when the data is a vector:
> twogrp<-c(rnorm(10)+4,rnorm(10)+20)
> gap.barplot(twogrp,gap=c(8,16),xlab="Index",ytics=c(3,6,17,20),ylab="Group
values",main="Barplot with gap")
But when the data is an array (for a bar plot with multiple

top posting again [was: Re: CDR Design] - Or was it top posting?
Thanks for that, it IS appreciated - but, everyone, can we please not argue this matter any more. Some see it as top posting - some don't. I really don't care either way.
No if we could just get back to the subject in hand and not clog up this list with flames.
Thanks
Andy

what's the plans for the website :-)
I've had a server co-located which I would've dedicated it
and given admin access for beta testers, right now i am
giving it back. I am / was running shoutcast for few more
days.
It is very easy to install Ikonboard as a FORUM or vBulletin
or phpBulletin or something where you can get some action
and have some people stay on the site. I've installed bunch
of those. Have specific

OT - Is sourceforge OpenH323 active ?
Hi,
A glance at sourceforge.net/projects/openh323 Help Forum made me wonder if
this location is the one to use (I got trouble in the past when google
pointed to an obsolete site) :
some quite old messages remain unanswered.
Cheers

OpenSSL tools are not installed
Hi,
I just had some issues with unvalidated certificates after the update of
the mail/fetchmail port.
The solution was to add the missing certificates manually, but that
involved running the c_rehash script, that currently isn't installed.
Of course, I could run it directly from src/crypto/openssl/tools/, but
that isn't an option for users that don't have the source installed.
So,
