Wine, Stars!, and the Battle VCR
I've got a situation where the current version of Wine is crashing when a very repeatable action occurs. What command line parameter should I add to create a log for the developers to look at and figure out what's going on? Regards, Mark Norton

Wine release 20010418
This is release 20010418 of Wine, a free implementation of Windows on Unix. This is still a developers only release. There are many bugs and unimplemented features. Most applications still do not work correctly. Patches should be submitted to "wine-patches@winehq.com". Please don't forget to include a ChangeLog entry. API implementation "HOWTO"
Maybe my imagination is overactive, but I seem to remember reading some- thing in the vein of a HOWTO/tutorial on adding a Win32 API call to Wine. It discussed the SPEC file, header files, etc. I've searched the winehq website and the source tree, but I can't seem to find this. Anyone know what I'm thinking of? Thanks! --

printing with wine thru ghostscript
The printing howto is a little vague in this area. How do I go about printing through ghostscript from windows? I know how to teach ghostscript to print the ttfs (generate the appropriate afms, add them to the fontmap). Where do I place the afms for wine to use? If I provide afms for each truetype font for wine, and then use a postscript printer ppd file, and set lpt1 to be |lpr, will this

Mixed font type in plot title
Hello useRs, I'm trying to put italics and regular font into a title and am having some trouble. The title I would like is " /Q. marilandica/ Volume ". If I use main=bquote(italic( "Q. marilandica ", " volume")) I get just " Q. marilandica " in italics in the title. If i use main=bquote(italic( "Q. marilandica ,) volume") I get "

T.38 "client" for Linux?
I am looking for a simple way to send occasional faxes via the FXO port on my SPA3102 -- without having to connect a fax modem to an ATA. In an ideal world, this would be some sort of "softfax" that runs on my Linux desktop and talks (via Asterisk) to the SPA3102 with T.38. This is one of those things that I thought would be relatively straightforward, but a couple of hours of Googling

GUI client?
It's very nice to see that NUT now supports my Belkin Universal UPS. Great work! Now I'm wondering if there's a GUI client that will build/run on a modern distribution. KNutClient requires an outdated version of Qt, and the "UPS Monitor" link leads to a Spanish error page. Lockups with kernel-2.6.32-358.0.1.el6.i686
I updated my home server with the 6.4 CR packages, and I've experienced 3 or 4 hard lockups since. The server is a fanless VIA C7 "CentaurHauls" system with a 1GHz CPU underclocked to 800MHz and 1GB of RAM. It has a dual-port Intel 82546GB NIC in its single PCI slot. (It also has an on-board Realtek RTL-8110SC/8169SC NIC that is plugged in, but doesn't currently have an IP

Does CentOS has problems with Norton Ghost 2003 images?
Hello all We have two very important workstations dedicated to tasks of development and investigation. At the moment we have installed a dual boot platform with CentOS 4.0 and Windows XP Proffessional SP2. In order to do backups of these machines we need to create an image with Norton Ghost 2003. We have worked with Ghost during several years with different platforms (Red Hat, White Box Linux,

Need help building Red Hat RPM
I'm trying to build a Red Hat 7.3 RPM, and the XMMS plugin build is failing, because the FLAC libraries aren't installed yet. I've looked at some of the SRPMS out there. They all patch Makefile.am in the XMMS plugin directory to make things work, but I can't to that on Red Hat 7.3, because it uses automake-1.4p5. (I know it's old, but upgrading it would likely break just
