Compiling against Mesa
I'm trying to compile wine but running into problems with mesa. The
situation is I have a software-only version of mesa that Mandrake spewed all
over /usr when I installed it and a "good" version in ~/stuff/Mesa-3.4/ that
I've compiled to use glide and my voodoo2. So far I've only used this
version to compile libraries that I stick into game directories as it
doesn't

WineX Build Problems
I can't seem to install WineX!
I did a autoconf configure.in and i get this:
echo "/* $ac_file. Generated automatically by configure. */" >
conftest.h
cat conftest.in >> conftest.h
rm -f conftest.in
if cmp -s $ac_file conftest.h 2>/dev/null; then
echo "$ac_file is unchanged"
rm -f conftest.h

I'm having trouble installing Wine...
I've read and re-read all the install guides that I can find, I've installed MacPorts, xCode and X11, and yet upon attempting to install wine via terminal, I still get the following error message:

HAVE_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES not defined correctly...
The Wine configure script seems to work fine, except that it doesn't define
HAVE_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES when it should; this causes
dlls/ddraw/d3ddevice/mesa.c to not compile due to a
redefinition/redeclaration error, so I have to edit include/config.h by
hand. Is there some way of getting configure to properly detect the GL
extension prototypes?
Thanks in advance.

Do the developers of wine get royalties or developement support from cross over office and transgaming companies
I would like to know if wine developers (well team) receives royalties
or support from transgaming and cross over office creators.
Because I am disgusted that the Wine creators spent so much time and
effort and hard work into their creation with good intension's whilst
transgaming and cross over office developers use there system to profit
on things that are a necessity rather than just being

SPORE Createure Creator for Mac may be using Transgaming?
I noticed while backing up my MacBook's /Users after I bricked it is
this:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/SPORE Creature Creator
Preferences/wineserver-HOSTNAME.DNS.TLD-USERNAME
then I noticed the SPORE Creature Creator also had dlls and other win32
stuff
Am I crazy or SPORE Creature Creator for Mac is just normal Spore
Creature Creator with Transgaming?

New TransGaming Patch
This worked with:
Wine CVS from Jan 29th + Transgaming patch
XFree 4.0.2
NVidia drivers 0.9.6
Had to turn off DGA, and force wine to manage created windows, otherwise I
get a glXMakeCurrent error when it tries to set the current GLX rendering
context.
The frame rate isn't quite windows, but the demo is certainly playable.
Good luck,
Dan

directX and transgaming patch
Could someone please post a concise explanation of what's required to
get directX working in wine? Here's what I've tried, and vaguely what
happened (I'm running RedHat 7.1, new install):
installed most recent rpm version of wine
can't find direct X (shouldn't be surprising)
uninstalled
got most recent tarball of wine
compiled it
can't find direct X

Transgaming Cider Game users can now save 25% off CodeWeaver
In reality how well do games really run with Transgaming's Cider on Mac? Well with the the help of my friend Google I did some searches for Cider Games and this is what I found. Below is a quote and link to the original article.
So how do you save 25% off CrossOver Games for Mac?

Subtle changes after installing Transgaming Patch
I have been running the 20010112 version of wine with "Agent" in order
to read all my mail and news. This seemed to work fine.
In order to try and get a game (Grand Prix Legends) to work I have
installed the Transgaming patch, which including patching wine to the
29th Jan version.
Since that time, some subtle changes seems to have occurred. These are
