Strange connectivity problem from linux.
Hi I have been facing a strange connectivity problem from CentOS and Fedora boxes. When I telnet to $ telnet adp.eease.com 443 it works fine some times and every 5-10 tries or so it says connection refused. And this does not happen from my windows box. Can anyone from this list try this on their linux installation and see if they get the same behaviour? Thanks Tharun

Samba - cannot print multiple copies
Hi, I successfully setup printing on my FreeBSD box using Samba with apsfilter and lprng. However, I have encountered two issues: 1) Cannot print multiple copies of documents from my windows box (e.g. notepad). Only the first copy is printed and the rest don't get printed. 2) My spool directory is getting filled up and I would like the job removed after the print job is finished I've

Unsupported Printers - just "sticks" in the lpd queue ;(
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello: I've configured a Linux box with Samba to act as a secondary domain controller for an existing NT server. I've gotten everything working very nicely, all my file shares set up, etc. I've got 6 printers that I need to set up as print shares. The ones that speak Postscript or PCL were very easy to set up, and work admirably.

Can't print to NT printer
I need some help with getting this NT printer setup with Samba server. I think I have modified all the required files and don't know what else is missing. An outside observation should find the missing link. Here is my /etc/printcap: lp:\ :cm=NT printer :\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/acct:\ :mx#0:\ :if=/usr/local/samba/bin/smbprint:\

OT - LPD for Windows ...
Greetings ... Sorry to be a little off topic, but I was wondering if anybody knows of a free lpd for Windows? I hate sharing printers using the M$ way. See all them computers on my network is just not pleasing, I like the way Novell does it. I was thinking of lpd, LPRng or CUPS with cygwin, but can't seem to find any binaries. Thanks. WINEPS insists on using LPT1:
I'm running Wine 20010305. I am using the WINEPS driver and trying to direct it to various printers on various ports. It seems to output to port LPT1 regardless of the port I specify in the registry and win.ini. Here is a simplified scenario, in which I define only one printer, on LPT2. Can any one tell me what is happening? Follow-up question: Am I limited to 9 printers, on LPT1-LPT9?

Unable to print with the Wine PS driver
I'm trying to get Wine to print through it's PS driver, without success, on a HP DeskJet 694C, configured on Linux with the cdj670 driver. What I get to see on screen after I attempt to print are three windows with exclamation marks on a yellow triangle and garbled text. The first window is titled "Printer name", the second "Device name", the third "Output".

I would love to have some feedback on the advantages and disadvantages or what the Samba Team recommends as a standard for working wih Samba. In case you need it, my system is SuSE 7 kernel 2.2.16 running under VM on s/390. Thanks, Josh Konkol, CNE MCSE Senior
