Horde mailboxes with Virtualmin and CentOS 6
I'm sorry if it is off-topic, maybe not.
I have CentOS 6, webmin/virtualmin panel and I just install Horde 3/imp 4.
In my virtualmin panel I have many email configured, but when I acces
Horde and I try to login with email/password or user/password, Horde
tell me login or password not good.
What I have to do to synchronize Horde and virtualmin mailbox?
Thanks you

Call supplicant on link detection
Dear all,
I have a working 802.1x structure with a bunch of Cisco switches, and a
couple of NPS RADIUS servers. 802.1x auhtentication with MSCHAPv2 is
working with Windows clients and I need to get some Centos clients into the
structure. I've been using wpa_supplicant and now it would be usefull to
have an auto start script when the interface detects a link and call the
supplicant to

"Overlay" Filesystem Mounts?
Greetings-
Is it possible to mount multiple block devices (or network devices over NFS/CIFS) such that the contents of the mounts appear in one location? For example, lets say I have these shares available:
\\server1\volume1\
\\server1\volume2\
\\server1\volume3\
All three contain a directory called data, with different subdirectories. Typically, these would be mounted like so:

Difference in gnome between centos <> fedora
Hello,
I've on my home PC CentOS 6 and Fedora 13 on different disks. When I log
on the gnome enviroment at Fedora knows exactly which programm was started
at which desktop (for example: thunderbird on desktop 1, firefox on
desktop 2, nautilus on desktop 3, ..). The same procedure on Centos takes
all programs on the first desktop, so I must arrange the programs on the
right desktop.

iso size?
I've been being told, over and over, by K3B, Brasero, and
Isomaster, on two machines, with three different downloads of 6.0, that
the file is too large for the medium. Nautilus and the browser that die
each download all say it's 4.4 GB; I've tried with two +R and an RW DVD,
all of which are labelled 4.7 GB Two of the files are 32-bit, and one is

libguestfs-winsupport package for CentOS-6
Is this available for CentOS and if so then where is this
package located? Yum cannot find it in the configured
repositories and I can seemingly only locate the
Scientific Linux version through Google.

Minimal Desktop in CentOS6 with kvm
Trying to build a more secure version of a desktop with virtualization
enabled. Goal is to perform most Internet surfing and on-line banking
from a special-built and hardened Linux load.
Have built a bunch of complete "Desktop" versions of CentOS 5.5, 5.6,
and 6.0 with this capability. This is the first time I've tried to go
smaller. And smaller it is...by about 900 packages.

CentOS 6, yum-updatesd
Back in the Fedora docs I found on a google, it mentions that in FC6, the
preferred tool for updates was the "new" yum-updatesd. Anyone know: a)
what theological reason upstream had to drop it altogether, and b) what's
the recommended replacement - is it yum-cron?
I hand-update some servers, and of course users' workstations, but some
system, like home directory servers and

Can't run fail2ban 0.8.4 [CentOS 6]
Hi,
To begin I'm sorry for my poor English level, that's not my first language.
On CentOS 6 I've installed fail2ban 0.8.4 from EPEL repository. I've
configured it with this page : http://centoshelp.org/security/fail2ban/
Then I've tried this command :
chkconfig --level 23 fail2ban on && service fail2ban start
but the output says it fallen, nothing more. The status

checking package versions in various releases
Hey folks,
I am sure there must be an easy way to do this.
I am currently running 5.3 and "yum info db4" tells me that they have
version 4.3.29.
Is that telling me that this is the version in 5.3? Or that this is
the latest version in the 5.x stream?
If the former, then how do I find out what release of the db4 software
(sleepcat berkeley db) is in 5.7?
I don't want to

What replaces /sbin/hotplug in CentOS 5?
What subsystem replaces /sbin/hotplug in CentOS 5? The older hotplug
package is missing from CentOS 5 and /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug yields an
empty string. Since hotpluging for standard devices still seems to
work, I presume that something replaces the hotplug helper found on
CentOS 4. Can someone point me in the right place? All of my
Googleing points me back to the (obsolete?) /sbin/hotplug

Misterious hang
Hi all,
Recently one my Centos 5.7 VM just crashes at least once a day randomly (hang).
In /var/log/messages there is nothing at all that there is problem (no
error, no failure). The log just stops.
The only change I did before this crashes is I activated LDAP
authentication, and also auditd. But I don't see any evidence relating
to it.
Any clue where to look for the cause?
Thank you.

Not sure whether ZFS now makes this OT - if so, sorry for not putting "OT:"
in the subject.

How to preserve iptables when running the GUI tool ?
Hello
I have set up NAT with iptables for an openvpn connection, so that the
VPN server could give VPN clients access to the entire sub-net of the
server.
The probelm is if I start system-config-securitylevel to say disable the
firewall, and then again to enable it, my iptable rules are gone !
I did run `service iptables save` before.
Is there something I can do to prevent this ? Is there a
