Access Denied Error On Windows XP --> Linux Printer
I'm running Samba Version 3.0.14a on Debian Linux. My sm.conf is listed at the end of this message. I have two printers on server.thresh.lan, a Brother HL-1440 laser printer and an HP-5510 Office Jet (printer/scanner/fax/copier/gopher and dishwasher). The Brother is named "laser" and the HP is named "multiuse". I have a multi-boot system on the LAN that can boot

Digital Works 95: Problem with animated dashed lines on elements
I've installed the latest available wine [ebuild R ] app-emulation/wine-0.9.22 and have issues with Digital Works 95. this is an old tool we need for creating digital circuits at home. If I place an element in workarea it gets unvisible as long as I have marked it. If I release focus it appears again. In a real windows installation the elements have an animated dashed line around. HAL adds printer twice
Hi, When I want to configure a printer, say an HP Deskjet 940, I install hplip, configure cupsd.conf, open up http://localhost:631 and configure the printer in the CUPS interface. Now whenever I want to print, I see that the selfsame printer is added again, and CUPS mentions it as "added by HAL". Is there a way to stop this sort of behaviour? Cheers, Niki

GDI Printer problem
Hi, we have a new printer here (OKI C5650). It's a GDI printer attached to our cups server. I installed the windows driver as root on the print share without any problems. However it's not working. When a user maps the printer only a message appears "printing not possible". So I looked at the printserver and compared everything with a local printer on my XP notebook and found

[cfe-dev] Why is #pragma STDC FENV_ACCESS not supported?
I know next to nothing about the AST, so I'll leave commentary on that to someone who does except to say that I don't believe there is a strong connection between Richard's suggestion and Hal's. An IRBuilder can be created anywhere (and is frequently used in the optimizer). When the front end support is implemented it may use an IRBuilder that leverages the state Hal is suggesting,

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [3.6 Release] RC3 has been tagged
I finally got around to testing this on a Bloomfield processor (Early 2009 MacPro 2x2.66 GHz dual-quad core) and the regressions from http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=22589 are even more severe. For 10 runs of scimark2_1c built with "-O3 -march=native"... llvm 3.5.1 1204.16+/-2.66 Mflops 3.6 branch 866.49+/-1.26 Mflops Do you seriously want to ship with a 39% performance

Eggcups printer icon not showing up in panel
I did a "side grade" on a client's machine freom FC2 to Centos4.2. I am not seeing the eggcups printer icon appear when the user sends a print job. One problem was that I had to copy /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession.rpmnew into place so that the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable got set correctly. The messagebus service is running, as well as hal. There is a notification area in the

Printer shows up before it is defined!
This may be a glitch/bug/feature unto itself, or it may relate to the problem I've been having with getting Win2k SP2 to print to a printer on Samba. I have just created a new, clean install of Mandrake 8.1. Then I updated CUPS from 1.1.10 to 1.1.11. I updated Gimp-print from 4.1.99b2 to 4.2.0. I am using Samba 2.2.1a, directly from the Mandrake 8.1 install. The printer is an Epson

printer trouble - missing driver?
I can't get my HP DeskJet D2345 (USB) to work on my CentOS 5.3 machine. It'll work on another machine (with Fedora 7). I compared the installation details (in CUPS http://localhost:631) - seems that Cent does not have the driver. On the F7 machine, the device is "D2345 (HP D2300 series)" and the driver is "HP DeskJet D2300 Foomatic/hpijs". When I try to config my

[LLVMdev] OpenMP 3.1 Implementation Complete
All, Just a heads up that OpenMP 3.1 implementation in clang/llvm compiler is fully complete. Kudos to my colleague from Intel, Alexey Bataev, who wrote most of the code! Apart of Alexey, many other people contributed to this effort; most notably Alexander Musman (also from Intel), who implemented #pragma simd; Mahesha S (then from AMD, now from Samsung), who wrote initial patch that started it

Win2k SP2 Printer problem
For those who have been helping me or following the problem I've had of printing from Win2k (SP2) system to a printer on a Linux (Mandrake 8.1) server through Samba 2.2.1a, I have some good news and information that I hope helps other people. At this point I have established the problem is NOT a printing problem. It's a user/access problem that's connected with using my server
