Has anybody used fanless computers of logic supply with asterisk?
Hi,
I have to install an Asterisk PBX for a customer and he wants something like
logic supply's fanless computers. Can anybody advise about how good will
they work, are they compatible with the Asterisk system? I'll also be
installing a sangoma 4 port FXO card in it.

Will a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden fanless CPU be suffiecient for 8 extension system?
Hello
I am using a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden Fanless CPU. Is this likely
to be enough power for a 8 extension system with 6 external pstn lines?
How important is cpu? Is there some measure, eg xMHz CPU per extension or
something benchmark?
I have installed 512MB memory - again any benchmark for asterisk memory
usage?

Compact, fanless appliance?
Hello
For those SOHO customers (ie. at most, a couple of POTS/ISDN
connections and simultaneous SIP calls) who'd rather not use a big,
noisy PC to run Asterisk, I'd like to offer an alternative that has
the following features:
- not old hardware sold on eBay, ie. it must be up-to-date hardware
sold by a company currently in business
- compact, silent
- has room for a 2.5" hard-disk,

Fanless solution
Hi there,
I'm looking for a compact fanless solution preferrably wall mountable and
not too exotic. It needs to be commercial grade. I don't really consider
most of the Via ITX solutions I have seen commercial grade but perhaps
someone can convince me otherwise.
This solution is about the best I have found. Maybe a bit on the exotic
side but I like the fact it is wall mountable AND

striping with ZFS and SAN(AMS500 HDS)
I have Storage-SAN of HDS(AMS500), and I want to do striping on luns from the storage. I don''t want any raid-5(because I have one on the disks in the HDS storage).
I only want to do strip on 2 luns(25GB each) that cames from different controllers and deffrent fiber channel port(dual HBA).
I test the preformance by writing 512MB in to the zfs, with 2 luns striped(each lun from diffrent

Best way to implement?
So I''m new to all this Rails stuff and this is probably a database
design-related question to, but here it is...
Just for learning I''m trying to build a little real estate listings
application. Of course there is the listings model which will store
basic information like name, price, description, and all that jazz.
I''m to the point where I want to figure out how to

Debian Lenny - Samba 3.2.5 + OpenLDAP (slapd) 2.4.11
I have a serous problem.
I have for some time now tried to get an SAMBA based Domain Controller
working.
I have tried with OpenLDAP and tdbsam as backend, but I get the same
error every time.
I wood prefer to use LDAP as my backend.
I have read tons of how-to SAMBA + LDAP, but non of the seams to work
for my, is there someone that maybe can see what I have done rung in
my config.?

SAN arrays with NVRAM cache : ZIL and zfs_nocacheflush
Hi,
I read some articles on solarisinternals.com like "ZFS_Evil_Tuning_Guide" on http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Evil_Tuning_Guide . They clearly suggest to disable cache flush http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Evil_Tuning_Guide#FLUSH .
It seems to be the only serious article on the net about this subject.
Could someone here state on this

real SATA RAID
Hi
Last week I had a lengthy thread in which someone indicated the my SIL
card is a FRAID (don't know if F stands for the F word or Fake, though it
doesn't really matter). I want to replace the controller with a controller
that Linux will see the RAID1 group as a single HD and not multiple HDs as
it happens with the SIL controller. Recommendations anyone?

Off-Topic: Low Power Hardware
Hello,
I'm slightly off-topic here, but it is somewhat CentOS related!
I'm in search of some hardware that consumes a low amount of power for use
as a test-bed for Linux, various coding projects, and LAN services.
1) Low power consumption (10-15W ... maybe 30W at most)
2) Must run Linux without too much fuss (CentOS or otherwise)
3) Must have two NICs (fast ethernet or better)
4) Memory

Network Storage
Hello,
I have looked into the various network attached storage devices and software
based solutions.
Can't really find one I like.
Would it be possible to add a couple HDs to my existing 6.8 server and set
them up as RAID drives? If so, how would I keep it from mirroring the
system drive?
Just spent$2500 on a transmission for my truck, so I broke right know and

Auto-assign CallerID for all my FXS Interfaces
As far as I can tell, in order to have caller ID show up for calls from other
internal phones, I have to set the caller ID on each channel in zapata.conf.
This is tedious, and redundant (since Asterisk knows which extension is
making the call, and it could look up the name from the voicemail
configuration--if the extension matched the mailbox).
Is there a way to set the caller ID for these calls

1. There is any option to implement it in ZFS?
2. there is other why to get the same configuration?

raidz2 resilience on 3 disks
Hello,
1) If i create a raidz2 pool on some disks, start to use it, then the disks''
controllers change. What will happen to my zpool? Will it be lost or is
there some disk tagging which allows zfs to recognise the disks?
2) if i create a raidz2 on 3 HDs, do i have any resilience? If any one of
those drives fails, do i loose everything? I''ve got one such pool and

filtering "tags" via checkboxes - HABTM
First post/newbie post... bear with me.
What I''m trying to achive (music site):
A system containing tracks and moods with a HABTM relationship. I''ve
got all that set up and functioning in the admin environment - i.e.
admins can apply a variety of moods to a particular track via a
series of checkboxes. Join table works just fine.
I''m currently stuck on allowing

space allocation vs. thin provisioning
Short question:
I''m curious as to how ZFS manages space (free and used) and how
its usage interacts with thin provisioning provided by HDS
arrays. Is there any effort to minimize the number of provisioned
disk blocks that get writes so as to not negate any space
benefits that thin provisioning may give?
Background & more detailed questions:
In Jeff Bonwick''s blog[1], he
