Using Thunderbird as local mail reader
Hi!
I'm trying to figure out how to use Thunderbird as a local mail reader.
So far I don't see any way to configure it other than as a POP3 or IMAP mail reader,
but I get my mail locally and would like to try using Tbird to read it.
What am I overlooking?
Thanks in advance!

sticky bit inside user's dir
Hello there,
I have the following problem. I need a user not to be able to delete
(rm -rf) a dir inside his home directory (a dir which is owned by him).
The sticky bit is supposed to do just that... and it does, in every part
of the file system but in his home.
Same goes for acls (setfacl -m u:user:rx dir), a rm -rf inside his
directory will render the acls useless.
Is there any workaround

GIMP 2.3.15 for EL5, no newer libs required
Folks,
I've build a tiny repo to provide GIMP 2.3.15 (and 2.3.14 as a possible fallback) for EL5.
GIMP 2.3.15 is the last version of GIMP that builds with no errors with the GTK+ version that ships with EL.
2.3.15 is "almost GIMP 2.4", as 2.3.19 was the last development release prior to 2.4.0. To the extent of my knowledge, Akkana Peck wrote the first edition of her book on GIMP

Hi guys,
Any chance we could get KSM support in centos 5.4? Maybe the
centosplus ones or a gift from elrepo.

Centos and RadeonHD 4570
Hi guys,
Recently I've done a bad bad thing, buying a laptop with an ATI card.
The card itself is supposed to be quite decent performance wise, but
the ATI drivers still suck a lot.
I haven't yet tried booting Centos on this laptop, but I used a Fedora
12 LiveCD. Fedora displays things nicely, but no 3D accel (I like to
play OpenArena/Tremulous every now and then).
After some serious

Server Build Example
I'm coming from the Fedora arena and I want to build, what I would call, a
production server. I'm to the point where I don't want to upgrade every
6-months. I'm running Oracle DB 11g, a Tomcat/JBoss hybrid application
server, and several other server type functions.
Is there an example of building a server that boots into init3?
Thanks,
Gene Poole

How to config SIP blind transfer in extension.conf
I want to setup a blind transer for auto forwarding to SIP peer.
I have context forwarding looks like this in extension.conf
[forwarding]
...
exten => 511,1,Dial(SIP/sip_proxy-out)
...
This will do the re-invite, which is attendance transfer maybe.
But I want a blind transfer by REFER method. How can I do that?
I know that the transfer() function may be able to do that. But I don't

Security considerations with displaying uploaded HTML
I have an application where I am allowing users to upload (or refer the
app. to) arbritrary HTML that I am (currently) displaying in an IFRAME
on a page. The users will be authenticated so it''s not open to the
entire universe.
I was always uneasy with this, but after reading the security chapter of
AWDWR, I am even more concerned.
What kinds of applications do people have out there

[Aarch64 00/11] Patches to enable Aarch64
Since you're already set up for benchmarks, I would ask if you could
benchmark the difference between using and not using the ARM64 inline
assembly. I believe the original justification on ARMv7 for the assembly
was the processor's panoply of multiply instructions and their long
cycle times. It seems to me that the ARM64 processor is much more like
an x86 one, where using a

Urgent. When the peer returned a 301 forwarded, asterisk thinks it's a local extension.
When making an outbound call, the outbound peer return a 301 forwarded with
URI to other domain, but asterisk think it's a local domain and
try to look it up from extension.conf.
How to configure so that a 301 forwarded with URI from other domain thinks
it's outgoing to another proxy? thanks!

botched RAID, now e2fsck or what?
Hi all,
Somehow I managed to mess with a RAID array containing an ext3 partition.
Parenthesis, if it matters: I disconnected physically a drive while
the array was online. Next thing, I lost the right order of the drives
in the array. While trying to re-create it, I overwrote the raid
superblocks. Luckily, the array was RAID5 degraded, so whenever I
re-created it, it didn't go into sync;
