is CentOS an LSB certified product?
Hi all, Would anyone know if CentOS 4 and 5 is LSB certified? I have not found any info on RH being LSB certified either. Is RH also LSB certified? In case you need to know, I am compiling a list of LSB certified Linux just for comparison as to who would want to be LSB certified. Just to see if it matters to ppl if it matters to be certified. --- Join OSCC MAMPU Mailing Lists

CentOS 6 supported hardware
Has anyone seen a supported hardware list on CentOS 6? I've been looking around for the last few days; even looked at RedHat's site but didn't find one. I've got a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card in it and I'm trying to find out if it's going to have native driver support for the WIFI. thanks, -- Mark Weaver Computer Information Systems

[HW] Do the HDD cages in rack mount chassis indicate visual/audio HDD failure?
I have no personal experience with rack mount chassis. >From the past postings, I reckon there are members, in this list, who have experience in rack mount setups and would like get their advice. To reduce the H/W cost, I am considering Linux mdadm RAID10 on a 2U chassis. I would appreciate clarification on the following: In rack mount chassis, do the cages that house the hard disks have

Samba Platform Support Clarification
Good evening. I'm seeking to verify the feasibility of using Samba as a file and print server running under the Linux operating system (Red Hat or SUSE), itself running under the System z Virtual Machine (z/VM). The documentation I've seen seems to indicate that Samba runs under Linux, but virtually all the specifics seem to speak in terms of UNIX. So I'd appreciate it for my

firewalld management on a headless server
Hi, > I recently converted my employer's firewall from pure iptabes to > firewalld and looked for something similar, more along the lines of > webmin, etc. funny, my webmin installation on a banana-pi has webmin 1.831, which has support for firewalld. I am not sure, but I believe I got it directly from www.webmin.com. best regards --- Michael Schumacher

Samba Server - WinNT Domain
I successfully joined my Redhat Linux 7.2 box to my Windows NT domain. I can ping it's IP address but not its Netbios name. I have it set to obtain the IP address form the NT DHCP. Also on the RH Linux box, when I try to browse the local network, I receive the error: Unable to connect to host localhost. My samba configurations are okay. And I have the nameserver set in the resolv.conf file

nfs4 problem in CENTOS6
Hi, This is slightly offtopic, but I have been trying to resolve that problem for two days now without much success. It looks like this may be something that works with CENTOS5, but not with CENTOS6! I have two machines, fileserver1 and server5. fileserver1 runs on CENTOS6 (virtualized, if this is important), server5 runs on Centos5. Both are running with the most recent updates. Server5 is a

storage for mailserver
hi, I am planning to replace my old CentOS 6 mail server soon. Most details are quite obvious and do not need to be changed, but the old system was running on spinning discs and this is certainly not the best option for todays mail servers. With spinning discs, HW-RAID6 was the way to go to increase reliability and speed. Today, I get the feeling, that traditional RAID is not the best option for

php 5.6 on CentOS 6
I am in the process of moving various apps and data off a CentOS 6 server to a new server running CentOS 7. As part of the migration process I need to upgrade an app and corresponding data files which requires php 5.6. I do have php 5.5 (and 5.4) installed since earlier but now tried to install php 5.6 from SCL which failed. This is the package I tried:

samba & ACL questions
Greetings, I seem to have Samba+AD+ACL's working on a RH ES4 server; however, I'm looking for clarification in regard to how the ACL's differ between windows and samba... or if they differ? With windows ACL's, I can give out user permission traverse directory, but not read its contents. Then I can give said user more permission to a sub folders contents. Meaning: I

how to get row name using the which function
Dear All, Probably a very basic question, but can't seem to work my way around it. I want to which row has the maximum value. But what if the row names do not correspond with the row numbers. In the example below, you'll see that the max of example is row 4, but the name of row 4 is "9". How do I get R to return "9" as value, instead of 4. example <-

obscure error with subsetting as.list() of a function then assigning that a (PR#9500)
Hello. I was writing some code that computes on the language and came across this. I can work around it, but thought you might like to know about it. > f <- function(x) { NULL } > a <- as.list(f)[[1]] > a # ie print(a) Error: argument "a" is missing, with no default Note it says *argument* "a", which is strange. Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the
