cannot find mcrypt rpm
Hi,
I need this to install for a new ecommerce store I want to test out:
mcrypt for extension=php_mcrypt.dll in php.ini
Do you know where I can get this rpm? I cannot find it on the CentOS
repository.
I am using php 5.2.3-4 and mysql 4.1.20 on CentOS 4.3.
Thank you!

PHP mcrypt
Hi,
Could someone tell me how I'd go about compiling php with mcrypt support
from src.rpm?
ie. configure -with-mcrypt[=DIR]
Is it just a matter of calling
rpmbuild --rebuild src.rpm --with=mcrypt
?
Cheers,
MaZe.

php-mcrypt
Is Centos team going to publish a correct version of php-mcrypt via yum?
Centos 6.5 and now 7 is out but no php-mcrypt. php-mcrypt is used by lots
of applications. and the one from EPEL repository is buggy and sometimes
makes my server crash.

Centos 5.6 Implications of PGP53 ?
If one stays with Centos 5.x (currently on 5.6) is the
problem/enhancement/incompatibility involving PHP53 likely to be
resolved by general updates and/or the introduction of Centos 5.7 ?

Installing php-mcrypt
It has been 6 years since I set up my Linux server and have
hardly had to touch it in all of those years other than running
yum update, so I ma rusty in some of the fine details (especially
at 72).
I located a source for the php-mcrypt rpm
(php-mcrypt-5.1.6-15.el5.centos.1.i386.rpm), however, isn't there
an easier method to get and install the appropriate rpm - other
than downloading it

php-mcrypt from c5-testing is the wrong version
Hello all,
I am using the c5-testing repo to fetch PHP 5.2.6 and related
libraries, required for the LAMP apps that I want to use. php-mcrypt
still seems to come from the extras repo and is version 5.1.6 and the
php binary doesn't load this module.
Any ideas on howto get php-mcrypt 5.2.6?
Thanks.

mcrypt on PHP 5.4 and 5.5
I have Centos 6.8 running on a VPS and upgraded PHP from 5.3 to 5.4 using scl. Unfortunately it seems mcrypt is not available, neither for 5.4 nor for 5.5.
What have other users done about that? Unfortunately I have an application that requires mcrypt.

php-mcrypt extension
I see that there are a plethora of php extensions available as rpms,
from the centos repositories, but not the php-mcrypt extension. I'm
trying to stick to an rpm-only system and haven't found one that
provides this, yet, for my 4.4 system.
Is there any plan to add this to the repository in the near future (if
at all)? Does anyone know where I can get it, otherwise? I see there

php53 and MSSQL
[Reposted now I've joined the list, so I hopefully don't get moderated out]
Hi,
I've upgraded lots of machines to 5.6 (thanks!) and there was one
particular machine that I'd also like to upgrade to PHP 5.3.
Unfortunately it seems I can't.
On the machine I have php-mssql installed, and it appears that there is
no php53-mssql.
php-mssql is built from the php-extras SRPM, so

PHP 5.3: IUS vs CentOS repos
I need to upgrade PHP because the latest WordPress requires one at least at
5.2.4. What are the tradeoffs of using the php53 packages provided by
CentOS versus IUS? I've seen that installing the RHEL-derived php53
requires removing php first and it creates package conflicts because it
doesn't provide a virtual php-common package. That suggests I should
install the IUS package. Is

Switching to php53
I have a Centos 5.6 server which is using the default php packages.
These currently contain PHP 5.1.6.
My main use of PHP on the server is to support an installation of
WordPress. I currently had WP 3.1.2 installed, but the WP developers
have announced that from WP 3.2 they will only support PHP 5. and
greater.
So I investigated and found that the Centos repo contains a series of
php53 packages.

CentOS 5.6 and php53 packages
Hello fellow CentOS users,
until now I was using CentOS 5.5 with php 5.3 through this file:
# grep -v ^# /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Testing.repo
[c5-testing]
name=CentOS-5 Testing
baseurl=http://dev.centos.org/centos/$releasever/testing/$basearch/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://dev.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-testing
includepkgs=php*
Today I have updated to CentOS 5.6 by running

centos 5 and php53
so whats the scoop on PHP53 for CentOS 5?
I have a long running webserver, runs a bunch of mostly php+postgresql
stuff, mostly hobby sites (clubs and local scout troops and such). has
latest updates to php 5.2.10-xx but I want to install something thats
insisting on php53. If I try and yum install php53, it says it
conflicts with php-5.2.10 ...
ok, do I remove the old PHP and install

Has this package been excluded?

php53 and eacclerator
Hi.
There does not seem to be a php53-eaccelerator in standard Centos yum channels, from what I can see. That is a mainstay for us. Has anyone found that any particular php53-eacclerator from other locations play well with it?
Thanks.

Cacti rpm for el5.6 with php53
Hello,
Does someone know if there's a cacti rpm available
that works (=installs and doesn't conflict) when "php53" rpm
is installed, instead of the older "php" rpm ?
cacti rpms from rpmforge/dag have these requirements:
php
php-mysql
php-snmp
So those cacti versions conflict with "php53".
I checked cacti-0.8.7g-2.el5.rf

Reason for removing php-mcrypt from CentOS 6/7
Does anybody know why php-mcrypt was removed from the extras repo when CentOS 6 came out?
I've been going through the archives and I saw plenty of people complain about it but no explanation for the reason.
I know it's available in EPEL but I want to avoid third party repos if at all possible.
If for some reason it became no longer advisable to use php-mcrypt in production then knowing

PHP and PHP53
Greetings,
We have someone requesting the use of Wordpress 3.3.1. It requires PHP 5.2
minimum.
Currently, our machine is running CentOS 5.7.
What are the issues/concerns in upgrading from PHP 5.1 (the current PHP
rpms) to PHP53?
Much thanks,
Max Pyziur
