KVM problem after update to 5.6
Hello, after updating to Cents 5.6 and so to kvm-83-224 my KVM virtual machines qemu qcow2 based images do not start anymore. Looking at VM console the error message is that VM media is not bootable. Going back to previous KVM version kvm-83-164 from Centos 5.5 they works again. What's wrong with qemu images ? anyone has an idea on how to fix the problem ? thanks Rick

Server reboots unexpectebly.
Dear group, I am in the process of configuring 2 new servers. They are running Centos 5.5 and for the last three days they have been rebooting unexpectedly, can you point me in the right direction what to look for in the logs. I have been checking /var/log/messages but don't see anything that hint me any clues why this is happening. Your input is much much appreciated. Lisandro PS. These are

VM Slowness
I hope this in the right list, but I was wondering if someone could help me with a VM I have that has lately started having problems. It had been running for years without problems. It's possible an update is causing this, but I can't say. The VM is running CentOS 5.8 and after a time, the machine begins to slow down. Things like pings or running commands lag. If I reboot the VM, it runs

Maybe what Centos needs is a bridal registry. Here in the US, an engaged couple can tell their friends what they'd like to be given as wedding presents. They do this by listing items in a registry, in various stores around town. Anyway, the idea is, post stuff you need in a list on your site. Say you need 20 hard drives, or a particular power supply, or whatever items that get consumed in

CentOS and Marvell SAS/SATA drivers
Hello all, I've been on a real roller coaster ride getting a large virtual host up and running. One troublesome thing I've discovered (the hard way) is that the drivers for Marvell SAS/SATA chips still have a few problems. After Googling around quite a bit, I see a significant number of others have had similar issues, especially evident in the Ubuntu forums but also for a few

Networking: two dynamic IPs
Hello. My host is CentOS 5.3 and Xen is v3.2 (from RPMs provided from Gitco). One of my DomUs is Trixbox that has been having some intermittent issues that I believe are due to it being behind my firewall (which is a Linksys router). My ISP gives me two dynamic IPs, so I would like to put my Trixbox DomU on this second dynamic IP. The Trixbox DomU is an HVM DomU. What is the best way to do

A@H / Trixbox Question
I thought I could try to post this question here since I have at times found excellent support here on A@H issues as well as pure/straight digium/asterisk issues. I am looking to finally build a permanent asterisk server and would prefer, if at all possible, to stick with the "new" A@H called trixbox. Does anyone know if the CentOS behind trixbox is a relatively complete CentOS system? I

Metaswitch to Asterisk problems
I am setting up VM off Metaswitch due to a problem with Metaswitch VM. I have a couple days to prove this works and I need a little assist please. I am using TRIXBOX 2.6.2.5 and have the Meta SIP trunk up. I have extensions built that can talk to each other. I took a trace on the TRIXBOX that shows when I dial my test phone on Metaswitch it goes to VM after a couple rings and the call goes to my

Building a System.
So, people have recommended building a system from scratch, start with a CentOS base and installing asterisk and all of the other utilities. I've only used Trixbox for my business system. I'm wondering what surprises I'd run into. Right now, I know I'd need the OS, Asterisk, something like FreePBX, I have a x100p card so I'd need Zaptel, does that come with asterisk?
