source code location
Hi,
I'm interested from where Centos gets the source RPMs of updates for Red Hat Linux? I suppose that they are publicly available but where?

Customizing Centos
Hi,
I want to ask you is it legal to create my own distribution based on Red Hat/Centos and to sell it under different name? I will make available for everyone to see the source code. Is this against the license agreement?

Problems switching from RHEL 6 to Centos 6
Thank you. I could resolve the issues, by editing stuff in
/etc/yum/pluginconf.d
There, I created a file rhnplugin.conf with the content
[rhel-6-server-extras-rpms]
enabled=0
[rhel-6-server-optional-rpms]
enabled=0
and I edited the file search-disabled-repos.conf and inserted into the line
ignored-repos= ... the pattern rhel*
I do not know whether this second step was necessary, I happened

RHEL vs. CentOS
Hi, we have a new customer to support. They have RHEL5 not CentOS5.
Is there a summary of the differences between RHEL and CentOS?
We have come across differences in how yum works. There is
magic involving the rhnplugin that connects us to invisible
repositories not mentioned in the yum config files, interacts with
the web interface via rhn.redhat.com, ...
We wonder if there are other

Whereis yum-rhn-plugin package?
Hi all,
I need to setup a repo server to allocate updates for RHEL3, RHEL4, RHEL5 and
CentOS5. Apart of mrrepo tool, I see that I can use reposync from yum-utils
package and yum-rhn-plugin package to setup a mirror update server. But I can't
to find yum-rhn-plugin under centos5 repo. Where is it?? Or I need to use
package released from upstream vendor??
Thanks

Network communication between hosts
Hi,
I need advice about developing C++ program. I need to develop 2 application which must communicate via network using SSL encryption. The problem is in which format to exchange the data. I can use XML format to exchange data between the hosts but a lot traffic will be generated. What are the usual practices to exchange data between the hosts?

[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello,
If you''re interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6,
take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial
It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6,
and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository.
It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6.
Hopefully it helps :)

Any alternatives for the horrible reposync
Hi,
I'm currently trying to mirror a couple of yum repositories and the only
tool that seems to be available for this is reposync.
Unfortunately reposync for some inexplicable reason seems to use the yum
config of the local system as a basis for its work which makes no sense
and creates all kinds of problems where cache directories and metadata
gets mixed up.
Are there any alternatives? Some

Updating R on RHL5
Hi,
I haven't used my system in a while now and wanted to update R.
Running yum update R fails because of missing dependency texinfo-tex
I have installed the EPEL yum repo configurations but
yum install texinfo-tex does not find the package.
How can I install that missing package?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
