IT8218 PCI IDE RAID CARD
I have big problems with this card not working on Centos 5.5
If I run Parted Magic (kernel 2.6.32.11) from CD, then the
IT8212F IDE PCI controller is detected OK, and I can access
the WD hard drive on the controller, in r/w mode.
Running Centos 5.5 I get lots of I/O errors at boot time,
and cannot get r/w access to the drive from GParted.
Any ideas what's happening, and why Centos 5.5

print directly on another computer's LPT
how do i print directly to another computer's LPT port?
printing via GDI is no problem.
i have application that must print directly to LPT ports
on several computers. on local printer, there's no problem,
but i can't access LPT port on another computer.
in windows, i could simply map it to LPT2, and use the LPT2

logon script trouble (net use lpt)
Hello, I encountered a problem while I tried to get domain logons with logon
scripts to work.
It occurs on Win98SE only, as far as my tests.
Domain logon is ok, but sometimes while executing the logon script windows is
unable to redirect
LPT ports to a print share using:
net use lpt1: \\samba\printer
I get:
"Share name was not found on the network. retry/abort" (a translation from

Dos to USB
Hi, I have a windows app that allows an old dos program that will only print to LPT, to redirect to a USB printer. I was able to use this in native windows. But Wine does not seem to be able to launch a dos box like windows could. The program is at:
http://www.dos2usb.com/download.htm
Unless there is some other way to redirect an LPT port?
Thanks Bob

help "reshaping" dataframe
List,
I want to reshape my data, but I'm not sure how to do it... it might be a
simple task, but don't know which package does this.
"occ.data" (see below) is how my original data are arranged, and I know
that with melt() I can reshape it like "y" (see below). However, I just
want to build a matrix like the "y" matrix, but with only 2 dimensions.

Hi.
I got a asus SABERTOOTH 990FX, reading about vt-d, I read the MoBo
that support IOMMU and there was chip 990FX, them I pick this MoBo,

cheap mobo/cpu combo with hardware virtualization support?
I''ve currently got a Xen 2 system running on a CL10000 VIA system. I''d
like to upgrade to Xen 3 and make use of the hardware virtualization
support in Xen (sometimes). My requirements then:
1) Cheap CPU. AMD or Intel. Must have Xen3 hardware VM support. Any speed.
2) Lower power consumption from the CPU
3) Cheap mobo to support the chip.
4) Decent raid-1 SATA support on the

minor omissions re "special" windows file names (PR#9622)
"lpt1" through "lpt9" and "com1" through "com9" are in fact "special"
file names under various versions of Microsoft Windows. However, "R
Extensions" says only that "lpt1" through "lpt4" and "com1" through
"com3" cannot be used as filenames, and "R CMD check" checks for just

Intel 82557-based Integrated Ethernet PCI (10/100)
HI zytor,
I hope you can help me. I have above network chipset on a Mitsubishi
im-2000 mobo. I don't see an actual chip on the mobo w/ this ID so I
suspect it embedded in the mobo BIOS or in one of the 3 Intel chips. I
am attempting to use LTSP to boot a workstation w/ above NIC chipset. It
has imbedded boot to net software (Intel Landesk service agt v.99b) using
PXE. I can't get it

Server video card
I have a big (8 quad core opterons) TYAN server with only the most basic
mobo graphics capability and KDE under Xen is exceedingly slow and the
attainable resolution is not very high. Is there wisdom on a particular
card or chip that plays well with Xen (OpenSuSE 11.0)?
THANK YOU!
Patti
