Defaults of CentOS Install not working with SELinux
Following a hard drive corruption I have reinstalled the latest version of CentOS and all current patch files. For most applications I selected the default options. By doing this I expected that the packages would play nice with one another and I could customize as necessary. Setting SELinux to enforce I encountered all sorts of problems - but most were resolvable, save for Dovecot,

Share users across domains
I know these systems work with AD, the problem is the migration, I don't think is easy to migrate 5000 accounts from current systems to new systems. I will need to learn the sintaxes of all these new systems and this would take huge time because I know nothing of samba4, or AD, or dovecot, or kerberos and the boss whants the emails for students for next month. We don't plan to

Added new guide OCS Inventory NG to wiki
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, everyone. I added a new guide for installing and configuring the OCS Inventory NG server/client system on CentOS 5.x. Also, there's some brief explanations for integrating it into GLPI. I added it under non CentOS applications, since I think it fits in best there. Regards, Max - -- # find . "*imbecile" -exec sed -ie

A silly question about getting access to webapp installed with yum
Greetings, I have helped host a few applications such as GLPI, OCSInventory, etc etc. using the tarball method and untarring them in /var/www/htom directory. I have never done them though using yum. I was trying to install Trac, Bugzilla etc using yum install method on a Centos 6.2 box. Somehow I am not able to see the respective pages say even using http://localhost/trac or

Best practice OU and policy structure.
Hi, I'm in an organization where we're thinking of deploying a department and role based OU structure. So depending on people's responsibilities one has limitations on their PC, or Account. However I notice that applications who use Ldap to verify credentials against Samba, have problems when people get moved around as logically their Ldap referral "cn= ou = ou- .. "

Nginx and SELinux on CentOS 7
Hi, I'm currently fiddling with Nginx on CentOS 7. Eventually I want to use it instead of Apache on some servers. Apache works more or less out of the box with SELinux. My websites are all stored under /var/www, and ls -Z shows me that all files created under /var/www are correctly labeled httpd_sys_content_t. On my sandbox server I don't have Apache (httpd) installed, only Nginx
